Poetry comes from many places and in many forms.
One of the forms is a haiku these explains something and is more subtle. A haiku is a total of 17 syllables 5 on the top and bottom lines and 7 syllables in the middle. American style poetry is more like music and has a rhythm. Most of the words in american poetry rime and are composed of stanzas. There is also free form poetry which is more loose and let of a beat and more of a story. In conclusion poetry comes in many forms and can't be simply explained.
