I started off by getting the brief and reading through what we will be doing in unit 8. I really like the idea of creating a print or moving advert, as this will be challenging and is something I will really enjoy making. After reading through the brief and getting a few ideas in my head I decided to make a start on my mind map. In my mind map I picked out all of the important parts of the brief and put them down to make sure I understand what has been asked. After I had completed the mind map I felt like I was happy with it as I could have added more. In the mood board it will include inspiration, images and videos which I had researched. I had to find a lot of pictures as the mood board we had to create needed to be A2 to get the highest grade possible. I decided to get pictures of horror films as one of my ideas was to create a horror trailer. Also pictures of the beauty salon at Harlow College as this will show the location and also some pictures of some videos which have inspired me. Once I had gathered my images I had to stick all the images onto the A2 paper. This was one thing i struggled with as i found that I didn't have enough pictures because the paper was so big, so I had to keep on printing more pictures. After I had to completed my action plan i then needed to start planning my pitch, i decided to make a power point as this is the easiest way to show my ideas to our tutor. I needed to include location, my idea and the equipment needed. The pitch needs to be 5 minutes long and in it I will need to explain my idea to my tutor. This way the tutor has a clear understanding of what I want to create, to show that I have planned well and ready to start all the research documents. I created a print based questionnaire so that the people in my class could fill them out and then i also put them onto survey monkey. I got a good response from my questionnaires which was really successful. Chloe had the job of creating the focus group questions and then we did the focus group together. Our focus group was really successful as we was able to get all the feedback we needed and more ideas to make our idea even better. Once we had got all the focus group and questionnaire feedback we decided to write up all the findings on a word document. This was really successful. We then done our action plan. In this is tell us everything that we need to do and what day it needs to be completed by. This will be really helpful later on when we are unsure what needs to be done. We wanted to complete this so that we had a clear idea of everything that we wanted to do so that we can show this to the beauty block manager in tomorrows meeting. Me and Chloe both split the work for the storyboard so Chloe did the drawing while I filled out everything that needed to be done on the sheet. For example, shot number and duration of the shot. I was happy that i got the job of filling out the sheet as I don't feel comfortable with drawing. Once we had completed the stoaryboarding, chloe had to catch up on all of her visual diarys this took quite a lot of time so i decided to carry on with the work and complete the rushes log and write up the findings from the Questionnaire which we put onto Survey Monkey. For the findings of the survey Monkey questionnaire, i went through each question to find out how the answers were different from the paper based questionnaire which my peers had completed. I decided to add screenshots of the results from survey monkey to make the results shown a lot clearer. Finally, the last log that i needed to complete was the rushes log. In this I had to give the shot number, what scene it was, the duration of the shot and a comment. In this meeting we talked about our idea for the Final major project. We discussed all of our ideas so far and we also got some of Helens ideas. We then went over and talked to the women who books everyone in and she gave us dates of when they had clients and we could go and film. She told us that there was clients coming in today and we could film them if we had the equipment and all of our pre production ready. As we had already completed most of the pre production we was ready to start filming, however we needed to make sure that we had completed the Location Visit Sheet, Location Release Form and the Equipment Booking Log. The main problem we had was that we hadn't booked any of the equipment so we needed to make sure that there was still equipment left for us to use. We went and spoke to Dave and he arranged for us to have the equipment today which was really helpful as we was able to start production today. After lunch, we was ready to start our production and film some of the clips we needed to. We found that filming went really well and we was able to get all the shots we needed. We was up in the beauty room and we was able to film someone getting a facial done and a wax. We want to go to the hair department next and get some shots of people getting their hair done. 
Today was really successful and we was able to get everything that we needed. Then went over to the Beauty block and asked if we could film today. They said that we could film the barbers doing mens hair. This is something we wanted to include as people forget that Harlow College do have a barbers and they need some models to practice on. After lunch we was allowed to start filming, so went went and got a camera and tripod from Dave then went down to start filming. 
When filming, we got shots of men getting a beard trim, hair cut and hair colouring. It was really successful as we was able to get all the shots we wanted. Next lesson we need to go and get some shots of women getting their hair done, for example, hair washing and colouring. We then went down to talk to Helen to see if there is any clients that we can film. Luckily, there was a lot of clients in today so we was able to film in both the hair and the beauty today. We started by filming the hair, we was able to get a shot of someone getting their hair washed, blow dyed and then curled. After we had got all the shots that we needed we then went to the beauty room and got some shots of someone getting their nails done. This was a lot  harder as the room was full and we needed to get good shots. We was able to move around and get the shots of people getting their nails done which is good. We have now completed all of the filming and are ready to start editing next lesson. We found the editing the hardest part as myself and Chloe are not very good at editing and haven't had much experience. I only knew the basics of how to edit so we was able to get some done but needed to get help to know what to do. First we needed to find some music which we liked and could fit the theme of what we was promoting. We wanted something mid beat which grabbed the audiences attention. This was really successful as we was able to find some music that fit really well with what we wanted. Then we needed to start putting the clips in to make sure that they fitted with the theme well. We also needed to pick out clips that had good lighting as some of the clips we had shot had lighting change. However, because we had got a couple of shots for each service we was able to pick out which one we liked best. Once we had logged on we needed to go through the clips we had left and pick out all of the ones that we still wanted to include. We needed to include a hair cut and a final page which sums up what the advert is about. We needed to pick out the clips we wanted from the remaining ones that we hadn't included. We had to make sure that they were in focus and that the lighting was good as we didn't want our advert to be good at the start and then not be as good towards the end. We then needed to create a page at the end of the video so that it ties it all together so that the audience knows what the advert is about and where the advert was filmed. Once we had finally finished editing we watched it through then uploaded it to Youtube. This way it was easy to access when people what to watch our final product and get feedback from it. We then went and uploaded it onto our padlet page and complete the minutes of meeting form. Once everything was updated on padlet we wrote out our final focus group questions, we asked questions such as what do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of our advert. This will then help us later when we can start to write our evaluation. In this we went through every question and wrote down what we found out. For example, what went well and how we could have improved. We wanted to create a document as we thought it would be the easiest way to gather all of our feedback, then later when we need to write our evaluation we could go back to this document and find out all of the feedback that our peers had given us. After we had completed that document we then started our presentation. We will need to present our final product to the C.A.S.T members. We will need to talk about our idea and why we decided to do that idea. We also had to talk about the research that we had conducted to enable us to create a successful advert. We also talked about our target audience and how we made it so that it fitted well and the audience would enjoy what we had created. We also talked about the feedback we gained and what we thought were the successful parts of our product and our not so successful parts. We have created this on powerpoint so that we are ready to present to C.A.S.T. I included things such as, my idea, my role, peer feedback, target audience and a conclusion. i am really happy with the way that it has turned out and have been able to explain everything and evaluate on all of the good and the bad. I also had to pitch my idea to C.A.S.T this needed to be recorded, so i uploaded it to padlet. In this pitch we needed to talk about our idea why we think that it is suitable for c.a.s.t, the target audience, the strengths and weaknesses that we thought and the feedback we was given. I think that i have worked really hard today which has enabled me to be productive and complete my evaluation and get my presentation out of the way.
