Freezing gait occurs in many patients with Parkinson's disease due to an unknown phenomenon of a patient’s brain not appropriately coordinating the movement of the legs. NexStride helps prevent this by placing a green laser on the ground to guide the brain on where the leg should be placed for the step. Additionally, NexStride has a metronome to nudge the brain into taking the next step timely. The green laser and metronome all have adjustable setting for the desired length of each step, pace of stride, and volume of metronome. Exercise is a key component in slowing the progression of symptoms of Parkinson's. With a way to prevent freezing gait, patients can exercise more and get around easier. Third, I would choose Pablo and his strength of positivity. Whenever team members were struggling with a task and feeling discouraged about finishing the project, Pablo would help restore life into the team’s spirit.
