There were most likely mosquitoes in the tomb and he probably just got bit. And, people die of mosquito bites allll the time. 
this shows that when he cut himself he probably got a bad infection.

A cobra nearly causes an accident for Jake and Tony. Tony and Jake didn’t say that they saw the cobra before turning onto the off ramp. Truck driver’s (if they’re awake) would see a large cobra sitting directly in the middle of the road. I think the curse is real because when the tomb was made for the mummies body the tomb was casted with prayers and spells to protect the body in the tomb, those spells and prayers probably cursed whoever entered the tomb.
the body and the tomb were casted with spells and prayers to help them in the afterlife and the statues of animals were the mummies protectors and they were made to protect the mummy and whoever enters dies.

Snakes normally hunt birds, mice, and other small animals; a Canary is a bird and a Cobra is a snake.
"A tablet in the tomb warns that death will come to anyone who disturbs the tomb."
The tablet was only to scare off tomb robbers that discovered where the tomb was hidden.

First of all, this proves the curse is real because once he took that bracelet, his house burned down with a freak fire. After his house had recovered and rebuilt, he got hit by a flood. But the last curse on the bracelet did not occur to him because he had already thrown out the macabre gift before it could get to him. After that, nothing had happened to him.
