This is by far a favorite of many kids due to the eruption. Students love to see things like this. They can learn about how when certain substances are mixed together there are reactions.

This is a great activity/experiment for students to get to set up and observe. It allows for them to take initiative of their learning by setting up the whole experiment and then by observing and journaling and drawing what is happening. Students get a great visual of what the water cycle looks like through this experiment.

This is one of my favorites. This activity gets students up and out of their seats. The get to go on a scavenger hunt type mission where they find shapes. This is good for the students, because they have their resource to compare to so they know if they are correct or not by self observation.

Building and engineering are great areas for students to explore in. It helps develop a curious mind and creativity is a must. Students get to be hands on and have to think on their feet in order to be successful, which this activity promotes. This bridge activity would also be a great team building activity as well. For this STEM activity, students get to create their own Mayflower boats. They have to make the boats fit under s certain dimension and make them float. Students can get creative with supplies, which allows freedom and deep thinking. This is a great crossover lesson to talk about history as well and it incorporates a holiday!
