Kinder-2nd Grade: Reading: discussing books/adding music and instrumentation to literature, writing: describing and responding to music and activities, describing instrumentation, Social studies: incorporating music from around the world, discussing the reason behind lyrics, describing the artists/history, science: discussing sound waves/how music makes sound/difference in timbre of music/creating own instruments with items from home.

3rd: (Piano/Instrument Family Focused): Reading: Learning about the history of the piano/history of music, Writing: responding to and describing music, demonstrating knowledge of own music creations, Math: Reading notes, creating notes, playing notes using different values, adding notes together, and understanding the correct way to fit the number of beats in each measure, Social Studies: Learning about the history of music and instruments as well as composers, Science: learning about the science of instrumentation as pertaining to different instrument families.

4th (Recorder Focused): Reading: history of recorder/exploring how/when it was created, learning about the woodwind family, Writing: descibing music and reflecting on music selections, Math: Reading, writing, creating, and performing notes with different values and understanding the relationships of notes, Social Studies: Learning about the history of music/instruments/composers, with a special concentration on recorder. Science: Learning about the science of instrumentation, focus on recorder/woodwind instruments.

5th: (Ukulele Focused): Reading: History of ukulele, how it came to be, composers/performers of ukulele, Writing: Creating google slides presentations during morning meeting to present/teach other students about selected topics, Math: Reading/writing/creating music using different standardized notation, Social studies: learning about history of music with emphasis on ukulele, Science: learning about the science of instrumentation with focus on ukulele/stringed instruments.
