Jackie was a part of the Negro Movement during the Harlem Renaissance. He pushed past other's opinions and showed his cultural pride by playing baseball. He wanted to be just like any other white man and participate in the game he loved most. He put the Athletic Black Community on the map.

I chose to write about Jackie Robinson because he was and still is one of America's important athletic figures. His name and his legacy will be remembered forever.

The TVA or "Tennessee Valley Authority" was "founded to help the hard-hit Tennessee Valley, where it was tasked with improving the quality of life in the region." (TVA) says the official website of the TVA. In other words it plays the part in "Relieving" In the Three R's.

The TVA was a big help and they "control floods, improve navigation, improve the living standards of farmers, and produce electrical power along the Tennessee River and its tributaries." according to Britnannica.

The TVA is still around and in great use today, "it is the largest public power company in the United States. The agency also manages the nation’s fifth-largest river system in order to control flooding, make rivers easier to travel, provide recreation, and protect water quality". The way the TVA is staying on top of the game in the power industry is "29 hydroelectric dams, a pumped-storage plant, and 3 nuclear plants; as well as coal-fired, combustion-turbine, natural gas, and nuclear plants; and diesel and solar energy sites. These facilities provide over 27,000 megawatts of dependable generating capacity." According to the national archives of the TVA.

Criticism

According to history.com, they received much criticism when it was founded. Other "Power companies vehemently opposed the TVA, resenting the cheaper energy the TVA provided and saw the agency as a threat to private enterprise."
