Women's Strike for Equality - A strike was organized by the National Organization for Women on August 26, 1970. Women all over the United States went on strike on the 50th anniversary of the enactment of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. The purpose was to give a push toward gender equality. 

Ms. Magazine - Ms. Magazine was co-founded by Gloria Steinem in 1971. The purpose of the magazine was to give a platform to discuss women's issues. It was the first magazine to address feminism. The magazine gave an outlet for women's issues to surface into the mainstream. 

Equal Rights Amendment - Gloria Steinem campaigned to help push the enactment of the Equal Rights Amendment. The purpose of the Equal Rights Amendment was to establish legal quality between men and women. It was also to ban discrimination based on the gender of an individual. The amendment was passed on March 22, 1972. 

Title IX of the Education Amendments - On June 23, 1972, Title IX of the Education Amendments was placed as a law. This law prohibited the denial of benefits or exclusion from educational programs due to discrimination based on gender. 

Roe v. Wade - In 1973, a decision was made by the Supreme Court that legalized first-trimester abortions, which also took down abortion restrictions in the US. She expressed how Wonder Woman impacted her political views on feminism. Wonder Woman was seen as a strong feminine role model that displayed independence and strength. Steinem explained how comic books lacked female representation and how most females within these comic books are usually depicted as damsels in distress. Most comic books typically have a spotlight on white male superheroes. When the writer of Wonder Woman, William Marston, died, her new storyline became more sexualized and submissive and more violent. In later comics, she was written as needing more help from male hero figures. In comic books, women tended to solve their problems with love and force, while men did not consider love and used violent force. Gloria Steinem used Wonder Woman as the cover story of the first issue of Ms. Magazine. Steinem and her peers who worked on the issue of Ms. Magazine were all influenced by Wonder Woman.
