"I am turning the curve to sixteen
Fresh out of the blocks in this race,
Yet to reach this momentous moment, many trials I’ve had to face
Dark days rolled in like a tsunami
Poverty, here it comes, fear, look out, loss, another wave rolls in
Trying to keep my head above water.
Suddenly I was thrown a lifeline. Hope is what some may call it.
I call it the beacon of light on the horizon that gave me a second wind.
Doggedly, I grabbed on to that lifeline and was catapulted into an academic realm.

Through education came a myriad of opportunities.
Goodbye sadness
Goodbye fear
Goodbye uncertainty
Goodbye frustration
Goodbye helplessness

I trampled them all under my feet
A new day dawned

"The piece’s subject is looking upon himself, a seemingly identical representation of him inscribed in one book. E Pluribus Unum, they say. Perspective is everything in life from how one acts and how society perceives them. It’s like the subject’s been there before, as some may argue that “The People” book is it. Some may argue that the book is a concept of the subject’s ideas or morals, and rather something envisioned. Moreover, some may argue the book’s a collection of America's past history. In conclusion, Perspective Deja Vu is a recollection of the subject’s past and a connection from the viewer to the subject within the art piece.
