PBIS is not the only way of dealing with behaviors. There are some behaviors that do not work with PBIS strategies. Sometimes, there needs to be tough love/accountability for the actions of learners.

Accountability is a real world skill we should be teaching our learners. We do them no favors by not holding them accountable and assisting in their being able to make it in the real world.

Time for collaboration between SPED teachers and grade levels (PLC or a set time). We don't have nearly enough time to collaborate together and finding time to do so is nearly impossible with our schedule and theirs.

More specialized support. Ways to hold our students accountable for unwarranted behaviors. Possibly opportunities to build better relationships with students. Clubs-specifically designed to improve behaviors/manners/proper etiquette. Not all of our students are exposed to the proper environments.

My students really enjoyed and looked forward to the Tenacious Texan assemblies we had in previous years. I think a way to honor them as a whole group in front of their peers and inviting parents to join was a small but powerful way to motivate and increase positive choices.
