Oral language is a system by which we express spoken words. knowledge, ideas and feelings.Examples of oral communication are conversations with friends or family, peers or professors, also can be presentations and speeches.Oral communication is very useful in PE Class. That is how I can talk to my students about what we are about to do and to explain the activity or sport.

Some examples:
If my students are playing catch with a baseball. They will need oral communication to tell the other person. When they are about to throw, so no one gets injured not paying attention to the baseball.

Another example, is when the class is playing a team sport game such as soccer, football, baseball. The students need to talk to each other using Oral communication to tell the teammates what to do and where to go.

Phonological awareness is a critical early literacy skill that helps kids recognize and work with the sounds of spoken language. (Weta, 2022).

For my explicit instruction on phonological awareness. I would have my students identifying words that rhyme, counting the number of syllables in a word.

Phonological Awareness is a big deal in any classroom setting. As a teacher I think it is a big deal for your students to know what your saying and understanding to the fullest. Especially for Physical Education I need everyone to know what I am saying for my lesson to make sense to the class. I do not want to explain a game and have to keep explaining because they are having trouble understanding words and comprehending sentences.

Examples:
-If i was going to teach a lesson on golf. I Will use my white board to help students practice phonological awareness. I will write down on the board Driver, Driving range stuff from my golf lesson. I will ask the class what sound pattern is happening with these sets of of words on the board. They will tell me the beginning of each word is the letter D.
- Another example would be when my class stretches before my lesson as they do before every lesson. I will give them a word before the stretch. Example, before they touch there toes. I will say clap how many syllables are in the word "Driver. They would then say dri-ver and clap twice. I will always pick a word that corresponds with the lesson.

Phonological awareness should be a very big deal in the state of Florida. I do not think people realize all of the Spanish speakers we have in this state. I think it is very unfair to Spanish speaking students we do not give them the proper Phonological awareness as we give those who are English. In my Physical Education class I will always make sure to use proper Phonological awareness and never let any student fall behind what we are learning and getting them back on track.

For my English students , I think its a big deal for English speakers to always be trying to expand there vocabulary. After every class I will have a word of the week and I will have them say it and tell me how many syllables are in the word of the week. This will help my English students help capitalize on both their phonological awareness, but also their English.

For my Disability student , It can be hard to try to incorporate Phonological Awareness in the Physical Education classroom. For my word of the week I could give them a piece of paper and a picture of the activity or a demonstration of it. When the word of the week is "Driver". I will have a picture of a driver the pronunciation, and the word. So they are on same page as all my other students at the end of class.

For my POC students, I will always try to incorporate there background in some way. It is important to understand there culture I believe for many reason and to connect with them. For my word of the week I can have my whole class say the word in Spanish before we sound it out and say it aloud. So if the word of the week is "driver" I will have my class say "Conductor de golf" before we do what we normally do for word of the week. I think it is important to do this to get the class to understand everyone culture and be more friendlier to eachother.

(Weta, 2022).

For my Explicit Instruction I will be giving my class precise directions for teaching letter-sound relationships. What i will be doing is having a letter (A) writing that on the board and pronouncing it. For Physical Education, I am student teaching right now and I have kids in all grades in Elementary. When students are in my PE class I want them to be able to understand me to the fullest so they understand what we are doing today or for the lesson.
Some Examples I can use.
-On a exit slip at the end of class I will have a word that we used in class.Like the word "catch". Students can see the word (visual) and sound out the word to help them understand activity. This will benefit them and me so next class they will know more about the word and activity.
-Another example, I will be doing group stations with the activity I want them to do. Before the activity practice their alphabet sounds and seeing what letters the underlined word start with and talk it over with there group.

Phonics is very importance to equity and justice for many different reasons. Many students do not even know how to read when they arrive at elementary school. I could not imagine moving here from a different country and not every class is going over a little but of phonics for my help.
-For my English Learners I could write on my white board the sport we are doing for the lesson. Having all my students sounding out each letter in the sport. (Ex.) Baseball the students would then pronounce every letter in baseball.
- For my Disability Learners. If i had student who could not participate because did not have functioning legs or was injured for the day. I can have him do a activity that involves pronouncing each letter on the board while he is stretching his upper or lower body.
For my POC and other cultural backgrounds.I think it is a great deal for them to stick with there roots and I can have them write down the sport for the lesson. I will have someone come up who speaks another language and write down how to spell it in there language. We all can pronounce each letter in there language and then go back to the one in English and pronounce it that way.

I would like my whole class being able to understand everything I am telling them. I know there is no reading in Physical Education, but I still need them to understand what is written on the board. Also what I am saying aloud to the class during my teaching.

For Example,

-I will go over Cues at the beginning of class for a sport. (Ex.) For kicking, I will go over kick with inside of your feet. Eyes forward at all times. Follow through with your leg to the person your kicking to. I will have this written on the board, At the end of class I will ask them what are the cues for kicking. Talk with your group and read off the board. I will do a teacher observation and see if you are comprehending what is written off the board.

I see most students in the school I am teaching at reading aloud but not comprehending what they are reading. It is unfair that some students get better teachers and better schools to teach you about comprehension skills.

Vocabulary is big in every classroom and you will need good vocabulary for the rest of your life. In Physical Education you need good vocabulary to understand what I am going over. Some activities or sports use big words or words not used in regular conversation. So you will need to have a big vocabulary to understand some words that are only used in the sports world. I will do my best to give you the best definition to some of these random words. (Ex.) A birdie in golf is not a bird, it is when the person uses one fewer strokes than the par of the hole.

For Example,

I will have have all my students know every Vocab word for each game we are playing. How I will do this, for the activity or sport. (Ex.) The vocabulary words I would want them to know for football. Are knowing every position on the football field. I will have examples and all of them written on the board. I will ask them questions every class and by the end of the week have them point out where the position is on the field.

Another example if we were playing football. I would have them say the vocabulary word while they are doing it. If they were passing and catching. I want them to say "catching" "throwing" while they are playing catch. This will help my students use their critical thinking abilities to help with there Vocabulary.

Writing is one of the most difficult thing to do in the English language. writing needs equity and justice to connect the classroom as a whole. Writing is very difficult to learn you need to have great teachers to become a great writer. Especially if you never learned to write at home or English is not your first language.

For my English Learners, I will have my students on there exit slip write what we learned in class today. (Ex) If we learned kicking I would want them to write in complete sentences how to kick a soccer ball.

For my Disability Learners, Writing can be very difficult for many different reason, not physically capable to write, can not physically see.Can not hear what I am saying so can not write. We will always find a way around this stuff. If you can not write or are blind we can have you tell your classmate what to write for you. If you are Deaf I can show you the word in action or show you a picture. If you just need extra time to think on the exit slip you are always allowed more time.
For my POC or different backgrounds students. I will have the picture be someone of color on the exit slip. so everyone in the class can relate and connect better. So when i hand out the exit slip to write what we learned no one will get offended. I also think it will make everyone feel more comfortable around each other.

Oral Language is very important to equity and justice. "All standardized testing in the United States is done in academic or standard English, therefore, children whose personal language is not an academic language are at a disadvantage"(Reed 2020). That is why we should never let a student who is new to the English language fall behind. As a Physical Education Teacher I feel it is one of my jobs to teach about Oral language. Oral language is very important in children's development to become successful readers, and strong communicators, as well as build their confidence and overall sense of well-being.

For my English students, I will make sure to have them all communicate to me during class so I can make sure they are not falling behind any of there classmates. I will ask them question about school and what they are learning and ask them about what we are learning in our Gym class.

For my disability students, I had a speech impediment when I was young I could not say words ending with the letter "R". I will try to see if any of my students have any speech impediments, so that I can tell there speech teacher to help them fix it.

For my POC or different cultural background students. to help with equity and justice I will always be trying to get all my students to keep on track how they communicate with each other.
