For a while, everything was going great! We were dominating the Trade industry, and we were so rich, the banks were practically giving out loans. We were seriously profiting from what we invented, sold, and manufactured in America. However, then Black Thursday came. Everyone bought out the gold stocks, and the market collapsed big time. After the market crashed, everyone was selling their stocks and shares, not caring about profiting much, if any, from selling them. The Great Depression found a way to get to everyone, and give them money problems. Employers couldn't pay their workers, and the highest percentage of Americans ever were unemployed. The Great Depression really destroyed our economy, but after it was finished, we were able to rebuild and America is standing strong today!

The Roaring 20's were certainly a different decade from what America had seen in the past. Women received more and more rights, and were given the right to vote in 1920. Americans turned to the party side of things, and soon, the entire nation was one big party. The 20's were a time of celebration and partying, carefree. More and more inventions came out, including the vacuum cleaner, the toaster, and the refrigerator. The railroads were seeing progress and Henry Ford had just invented the first car, going for a price of $875. Soon, every American citizen had a car, vacuum cleaner, toaster, refrigerator, and more inventions that came along. Everyone was prospering and money was fine. Financial problems wouldn't really be seen until the Great Depression, so America was doing great.

The 1920's was a period of luxury and economic boom. Everyone was spending and getting money while having the time of their lives. There were many new technologies and social changes. Jazz music also became more popular along with dancing. Flappers were popular, these women broke the standards and did what they wanted. Women also got the right to vote. Women almost always wore dresses either by themselves or with aprons, and men were always in suits or work clothes. So in conclusion, the roaring 20's was one big party.
- Olivia Stegall
