Insegno in una scuola secondaria di secondo grado, faccio sostegno da 17 anni, gli ultimi 9 presso un istituto tecnico agrario. Nella scuola italiana non esistono (io dico per fortuna) scuole speciali per i ragazzi con disabilità, quindi spesso nelle classi sono inseriti ragazzi con Bisogni Educativi Speciali. Essi costituiscono una immensa ricchezza perché, avendo bisogno di strategie educative adeguate alle loro difficoltà, costantemente pongono gli insegnanti di fronte alla necessità di trovare nuove metodologie didattiche che garantiscano il successo scolastico di tutti. In questo corso spero di trovare nuove idee e stimoli che mi aiutino a migliorare ed arricchire il mio lavoro.

I am a keen salsa dancer and I perform as "Princess Nalimar" in a Greek modern opera for some time now.. The school where I teach, "Federico De Roberto" of Zafferana, is located on Etna not fard from eruptive areas. In fact we, science teachers, often organize on site lessons when we treat naturalistic and geomorphological topics. In fact I really like to address all school topics as a form of workshop, by learnin by doing method. I am convinced that only by making and translating into realistic activity how you learn through different teaching aids, knowledges became skills that can then be used in daily life by building a solid wealth of experience. I love very much teaching!!!

I am 52 years old and I've been "teaching" for 47(!) since I gave my first English lesson to my younger sister and friends after I had taken my first English lesson myself. Born to be a teacher you might say, however, these new times of digital teaching have been very challenging even for the most dedicated part of me!
