Hi everyone! I'll start the conversation. Believe it or not, I actually did not enjoy reading when I was growing up. I had a hard time paying attention and would often lose focus. My mom encouraged us to read though, so I got lots of practice, whether I liked it or not. I started to like reading more in high school, after I read The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien. To this day, this is one of the most beautifully written pieces of literature I have ever read.

Hey class! I also never really was much of a reader, I mean I'm still not to this day because I had trouble with focus but when I do, I tend to submerge myself into the book/story or else I'd know I would never get it done. I like using audio books while reading a lot because it helps me keep focused and it feels like I have someone along my side when I read. For example, in the 7th grade my English class got to read The Outsiders. I fell in love with the story because it always had me wanting to know more of what was going to happen. But when I tried rereading it by myself, I couldn't bring myself to focus. Then I learned about Audio Books and I've been using them ever since.

Hi there, I do really enjoy reading. But I have to be in the mood for it. Sometimes, I'd just rather watch Netflix and relax, as reading seems to be a bit more work. But when I am in the midst of a great book, I can read and read and read! My favorite time to read is when I am eating alone. However, I don't get the chance to do that very often because I am the mom of two college kids and a hubby. I love books. I love the look of them, I love to feel them and the satisfaction I get when I close the cover after I have just finished a really great book. I just don't get that same sensation from reading a Kindle or e-reader. It has to be a real book! I guess you can call me "old school."

Normally, I read about science and documentary because I like to explore the hidden things in the world. I know reading books will help me learn a lot, but I don't read much. I usually like to watch news and movies, so I can learn the pronunciation and read the subtitle at the same time since English is my second language.

Sometimes I'd be reading the words but my mind is thinking of something completely different so I have to go back and reread what I just read. However, when I do read something that interests me like psycho killer novels or anything that has to do with unsolved mysteries, I am all in! I'm more into spooky, creepy, scary reads. As a kid I loved to read "Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark".

Hello Everyone!
I use to read a lot when I was younger. I remember my sister giving me Judy Bloom books and I became obsessed with her as an author. I use to go to the library and sit there and read until the bell rang. I used reading as a way to distract myself from being bullied. It became a hobby of mine reading before I would sleep or I would sit there with my mom on the weekends and read while she watched tv. Fast forward to now I read occasionally because I don’t have as much time. By the time I would want to read I’m dead tired. I buy really good books that I add to my collection, yes I have a whole collection of my favorite books. The last book I read was “A walk to remember”. I read that book so many times and watched the movie. I love the book more because it describes every detail and I imagine every detail like her sweater and the way the she describes the feel of it or when Landon touches her or kisses her. Very passionate. I love to read mystery, romance, and pretty much anything that catches my eye. I just bought “The boy who drew monsters” can’t wait to read that.

Four years ago I started a goodreads and I challenged myself for 40 books that year. The next two years I read 50 each year. This year has not been it though, I think I may have 12 right now. The only time I actually enjoyed reading was “The Crucible”. That book really caught my attention. I honestly have never been a fan of reading, but when I need to read I get it done. Sometimes I amaze myself with what I read. The reason why I don’t like to read is because I get so lost and I get easily distracted.

I lost interest in middle school and didn't finish a book until I was assigned to read Catcher in the Rye my senior year.
