         <description><![CDATA[<div>Rex and rose moved the family into a new home on Ninety- three little Hobart street.  The toilet was broken and they had to use a bucket . During this time they rarlly had food to eat at home and the kids would have to resort to other tactics to get food.<br><br>Direct evidence - " when the other girls came in and threw away their lunch bags  in the garbage pails, id go retrieve them" (173)<br><br>- Jeannette was impacted by hunger and poverty during this time because she was so hungry she was eating other's leftovers from the trash </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Their house had no heat in the winter and they had not washed their clothes in months <br><br>Direct Evidence- " By new years we had washed our clothes only once since that first November snowfall" (177)<br><br>Jeannette was impacted by hunger and poverty in this situation she was living in a freezing cold house and she could not even wash her clothes.</div>]]></description>
