About Ptolemy: Ptolemy was not the first person to claim that the Earth was at the center of the solar system. He actually was supporting that claim. He even made a diagram about how the Earth is at the center of the solar system called the Ptolemaic System or Geocentric System. The diagram also told us that Ptolemy theorized that planets spun in a circle when they rotated Earth. Even though, he was incorrect, he still somehow managed to get the planets in the right space in the right time as of now. Ptolemy wasn't just interested in astronomy, he was also incest. He married his widowed half-sister and she gave birth to two children, Arsinoë (II) and Ptolemy (II).

What I think of them: To me it seems like he was extremely smart and he and from the paragraph above this sentence, he seemed like a generally good guy.

Halley recorded a transit of Mercury across the Sun then made a realization that transit of Venus could be used to determine the size of the solar system. Also he used the laws of motion to calculate the intervals of Halley's Comet. He was from East London, his father which he was named after was a wealthy soap-maker. Using a method outlined by Galileo, Cassini was also the first to make successful measurements of longitude. Cassini made the first observations of four of Saturn's moons: Iapetus, Rhea, Tethys and Dione. In addition, he discovered the Cassini Division in the rings of Saturn in 1675. His name lives on today in the Cassini orbiter which has studied Saturn and its satellites since 2004.
