         <description><![CDATA[<div>On January 19th, 1735, Alice Riley was the first woman hanged in Georgia for participating in murder of her master with her boyfriend. She was pregnant at the time and got to deliver the baby before the execution. This was taken place in Wright Square.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before leaving on the journey to Georgia, the Trustees looked for colonists to join Oglethorpe. They looked for carpenters, tailors, bakers, farmers, merchants, and other skilled people to help make the colony successful. In November 1732, James Oglethorpe and 114 other colonists started the expedition to find Georgia. They crossed the Atlantic on a journey that lasted 2 months.&nbsp;The main religion of the Georgia colony and its founders was based on the Anglican Church.</div>]]></description>

There were no schools so boys were taught at home while girls learned to sew, cook, and clean. Most people were small farmers. It got the name "Bloody Marsh" because a legend was told that the marsh at St. Simons Island ran red with blood following the English's victory.</div>]]></description>
