My name is Jamel Holmes and I am a 6th grade Special Education Teacher. I am also assisting with on boarding new teachers this year. I joined EBA In September of 2018. I am also an alumni, class of 2008 (first graduation class). Prior to joining EBA, I worked as a Paraprofessional and Lead Teacher Assistant  in district 7 for 4 years and also worked at Harlem Children’s Zone as a Program Director for 9 years. 

Recently, I graduated from Lehman College with my Master's in Special Education.

My name is Anthony John (I know, it sounds like I have two first names), and I will be teaching Geometry and Precalculus to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders at EBA this year. 

I am joining EBA after completing my first year of teaching at the 7th Grade level. Additionally, as a Teaching Fellow, I am completing coursework at Lehman College toward my M.S.Ed in Mathematics Education, Grades 7-12.

I am interested in exploring new and innovative ways to make a mathematics classroom more exciting! I seek to build healthy connections/relationships with all my students, integrating their interests/passions into the world of mathematics.

My names Kendra Jackson and I am the dance educator for EBA.
I am returning to teaching after 2 years of childcare leave. I have been teaching for NYC since 2001. For 3 years I was in Brooklyn, 13 years in Astoria and now The Bronx. I started a yoga and mindfulness program at The Baccalaureate School for Global Education which lasted 9 years and I am the co-facilitator for the new Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Preparation Program which started in Brooklyn this past May. With this program we are hoping to have yoga and mindfulness throughout all NYC schools. 
If anyone is interested in adding either yoga or mindfulness to their classes please feel free to reach out. I would love to help.

My name is Naiomie Gonzalez. I was a paraprofessional for District 75 for 1 year. Then, I joined East Bronx Academy as a paraprofessional and continued to become a Lead Teacher Assistant for the last three years. 
Although I have been part of the EBA family for more than 10 years, I am transitioning  into a new position as a math teacher.  I am happy to continue my growth as an educator in a great environment. 

I recently graduated from Lehman College with my Masters in Math Education. As a fellow Bronxite, I am looking forward to getting to know my students and using my education to service my community by creating an engaging and successful classroom. 

I look forward to another great school year at EBA.

Salutations,

My name is Clarissa Pullin, I will be teaching Chemistry and co-teaching Biology at EBA this year.

Prior to joining EBA, I taught Regents Chemistry, Marine Biology, and Forensics Science at Freeport High School in Long Island for 2 years.  In addition,  I have taught Living Environment classes during the summer at Oceanside High School for 9th-11th graders.

In 2016, I graduated from Hofstra University with a Master of Science in Secondary Education, Biology 7-12.  I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Bioscience from Farmingdale State College in 2013.

 My goal is to empower the students of EBA in science by incorporating cross curriculum skills with real-world experiences. 

 I am interested exploring various motivational techniques to spark students interest in science, while building a strong student and teacher relationship.  Inspirational quote,  “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” - Benjamin Franklin
