How is your progress?
I was getting better at interacting with the students. I am getting more familiar with them so are they with me╰(*°▽°*)╯. I was able to give instructions that they could understand and follow accordingly.

I found my rhythm to guide and assist them during academic learning or handling activities.^_^

I am getting used to their daily routines including those who stayed for daycare until 5 pm. On some days, I handled the daycare students for their post-school routine which were taking a bath, putting on clothes and performing Zuhr prayer（*＾-＾*）

Oh! \^o^/ I also got to familiarize myself with the students' parents/guardians when they came to pick them up.

3. Points to remember from week 2!
Encourage the students with words of affirmation for doing a good job at listening and understanding instructions.
~\(≧▽≦)/~

Bear in mind that I am not there to teach them letters and numbers only but also good and bad behaviors.

4. Your feelings & thoughts
I felt more organized this week to conduct my daily routine at the kindergarten (❁´◡`❁).

1. Your name, matric number, date

LEKA A/P MURUGAYA, A182282, 17/7/2023-21/7/2023

2. How is your progress?

All is well at the moment. Throughout, I'm learning a lot of new stuff. Even though it took me some time to adjust, I have now grown to truly like being among the students. Last week, I could see that some students were genuinely hesitant to speak with me, but now we were too close. Now, I enjoy going to school every day. When they arrive at school, the Year 1 and Preschool pupils in particular usually give me a hug. I was genuinely touched by how much love they were expressing for me. Before returning, I'll complete all of the assignments that my supervisor gave me that day. I deliver my speech on the topic of environmental pollution and dengue flu really effectively, and I have also created a powerpoint presentation for it. My supervisor praised me for making the speech easy to grasp for all of the students.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

Even though my supervisor complimented me on the presentation I gave, I still need to work on my skills. Being an SJKT school, Tamil is the primary language spoken there. Even though I created my slides in Malay, I must translate them into Tamil before presenting them to the students, which makes it quite challenging for me to deliver the session. I need to properly prepare myself in advance for the upcoming speech so that I can speak Tamil fluently without mingling it with Malay and English terminology.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

It was quite draining. because taking care of Year 3 pupils was difficult, especially in sports class. Additionally, some of them are chatty and wicked. This week was quite exhausting because I had to shout whenever I wanted to give instructions. But other students were simply too good. They paid attention to what I had to say and did as I said. I anticipated a challenging week, but I had to persevere with the same vigor with which I had begun posting.

5. ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

Be patient. As an educator, having patience is crucial. Being patient was not simple, especially while instructing children. I need to start working on being more patient with the students.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

My supervisor merely told me to show up for the Year 3 sport class relief class; she didn't give the hour. My supervisor didn't let me know the time of the class until after it had started, and I didn't have their schedule. So, around 7.30 in the morning, I took the pupils to the school field. I wasn't sure if the class would last an hour or only 30 minutes. The students were unable to answer my question. I began teaching them how to play netball on the assumption that the class would last until 8.30 am. Just to turn out that the other teacher was already calling them out and that they had English class following that at 8:00 am. I felt so guilty as it was my mistake that I didn’t ask my supervisor or their class teacher about their sport class’ time. I apologized to that teacher and promised that I won’t repeat the same mistake again.

7. Your plan for next week (Week 3)

I was informed to teach Mathematics and sports class for year 5 for the next week In addition, I have to deliver a speech about Practicing Healthy Eating Habits in conjunction of Health, Cleanliness, and Safety month. I'm delighted to impart my expertise to the pupils, and I hope I can make the speech. I haven't taught maths in such a long time, so I'm really looking forward to it next week.

How is your progress?
Activities that I have done during Week 2:

a) Dental care programme for Form 1 – Form 4 students.

To discover about common dental problems, prevention & treatment, and the right ways to brush teeth. It also help students to be aware about their dental care.

b) School assembly (Perhimpunan Rasmi SMKTSR)

This assembly involved all students and teachers of SMKTSR and it will be held every Monday. During assembly this week, there are a weekly report delivered by the teacher in charge, speech by Pn. Sariza Binti Md Saleh, Principle of SMKTSR & presentation of prizes & certificates to all the winners for Hari Keusahawanan last week.

c) Practical Exam for Form 5 students.

I was assigned to help the teacher in charge in the control room to conduct an experiment based on the exam question provided for Biology & Chemistry practical examination (Amali Kawalan). Under control room, the teacher have to do the experiment 30 mins prior to examination to make sure everything is working and gain data as a references. So I took the opportunity to help the teacher during the procedure and record the data. After that, I proceed with the next task which is to become invigilators in the exam room.

d) Motivational talk with Form 5 students and during class relief with 1 Bestari.

Session with Form 5 students:
  - Q&A session
  - Best study tips

  - Discover about study pathways after SPM

  - Give some overview about medical course

Session with 1 Bestari:

The students are divided into 3 groups and have to discuss about “What is Stress?” They also need to give examples of positive and negative stress. After that, all the groups need to send a representative to present in front of the class. It really helped all of us to have an effective two ways communication and make the session become more interesting.

After the session end, the winners will get prizes from the teacher.

Second activity is called “A SECRET BOX”

The students can write anything that trigger them to become stress in a piece of paper without exposing their identity.

The benefits of this activity are to allow students express their emotion or anything that plays in their mind without exposing their identity. So, they became more comfortable to share their thoughts and opinion. Also, the teacher can discover & identify serious problem that happen among students.

e) "Program Memasak Bubur Asyura"

All the teachers helped each other to prepare the foods to be distributed among all the students and staffs of SMKTSR.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

a) Plan before hand on what to teach in the class to ensure teaching & learning process going smoothly and effectively.

b) Be creative in everything that you do. Teachers need to use different teaching tools, for instance, I come up with the idea of "Secret Box" during my class to make sure students really engage in my lessons.

c) Always have a backup plan. Sometimes I might come up with a really fun and exciting lesson plan that involve various activity, for example by preparing a video or clips to show to students. But, not every class are provided with projector. So, that is when plan B come into place which I need to replace it with the other activity.

c) Be confident in anything that you do. It was not easy for me to give motivational talk in front of many students because I felt so nervous at that time. So, I overcome my fear by believing in myself that I am ready for it and not seeking of perfection at the first place.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

I felt satisfied because I could do many activities compared to Week 1. Moreover, I am so happy because most of the students pay attention during my class and communication is getting better with them.

Next, I was so excited because I got the opportunity to do the experiment with other teacher and it helped me to revise back what I have learnt during Form 5.

5. ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

Always give the best in anything that you are responsible for to achieve a maximal results even though it is hard for you to do. Give yourself a try then you will realize your abilities. Once you get the great results, it will motivate you to do better in the future.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

To gain attention from students during class.

The ways that I practiced to overcome this problem are by using a good intonation of voice, ask question frequently, reward their participation and ask students to read aloud.

7. Your plan for next week (Week 3)
- Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan Peringkat Sekolah 2023 (AJK Persiapan Tapak Perhimpunan)

- Mentoring Science subject for Form 5 students.

- Continue with class relief.

Short but sweet. ❤️ [2nd Week as Teacher at Pasti As-Solihin, Penang]

1. Your name, matric number, date

Syahirah binti Rezwan Eskandar, A182125, Week 2 (17-21/7).

2. How is your progress?

Positive. Although there was 2 days off (cuti peristiwa & maal hijrah), I managed to participate/assist in 5 years old classes this week as planned previously. In addition, this week, I got the chance to participate in one of the routine activities at Pasti As-Solihin which is the morning assembly. It was interesting & fun! I learned the gestures that the teachers and kids did while reciting the doa & hadith, singing to educational songs such as the days in a week, vocal alphabets and many more. And we also did aerobics exercise on Thursday morning! Overall, it was a whole new experience but I had fun learning and adapting.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

Problem solving skills

When assisting 4 years old writing the alphabet ‘a’, I noticed one of the kids had some trouble writing it correctly. Hence, I observed him for a while to see how things went wrong. I found out that the steps were right, however the direction was wrong. Since the root cause was figured out, we finally got to write the alphabet correctly as I taught Aqeef the correct direction of writing ‘a’!

Each of the kids are unique, diverse in terms of personality, learning ability, strength etc.

This is significant and important for us to acknowledge especially being an educator. It indicates that different kind of approach might be needed for each one of them, some extra effort and attention need to be given to some of the kids. Not to forget, it is crucial to identify the kids’ strength thus praising them for doing good to motivate them!

4. Your feelings & thoughts

I feel more confident and comfortable carrying myself as a teacher around the kids & as a colleague to the other teachers. This week was less eventful compared to Week 1, so I look forward for the eventful Week 3 at Pasti As-Solihin that will be disclosed in my next week journal.

5. ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

- Having courage to take a step back when encountering any problem/issue as it allows me to see it in a bigger view as a whole & gives me idea on how to solve it.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

- I was literally physically drained by the last week schedule/activities which causing me not feeling well for few days of the week. Maybe I was mentally prepared for the commitment, but not physically. Hence what I did was adjusting my sleep schedule to allow me to have an enough & good rest so that I can perform the best the next day. And it worked as I felt better afterwards! However, there was times where adequate rest/sleeping hours couldn’t be achieved. But I think having a driving force (as in my case is my students), helped me get through things well. Going to work did not feel burdensome at all.

7. Your plan for next week (Week 3)

Actively participate in the preparation for the upcoming PASTI Football & Netball Championship (deciding the theme, costumes, banner etc).

Lead the class/learning session to gain more realistic experience of being a kindergarten teacher.

1. Your name, matric number, date

Nur Raihana T’ ng Binti Mohd Salleh T’ng
A181687
Week 2 (30/7-3/8)

2. How is your progress?

This week, I joined the Dental Care Program conducted at the school. It involved students from Form 1 to Form 4 for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Furthermore, I was assigned as the examination invigilator for 3 practical tests (Ujian Amali) involving Physics practical test on Tuesday, Chemistry practical test on Wednesday, and Biology practical test on Thursday for Form 5 students. I was assigned to take students' attendance before the examination as well as be in the control room doing the experiment alongside the teacher. The exam started at 8:00 in the morning and ended at 9:00 in the morning with an hour quarantine period. As requested by the school’s counselor, I also had the opportunity to give mental illness awareness to Form 1 students (1 Dedikasi). I divided the students into 3 groups and we talked about stress, depression and anxiety. We also discussed the causes, effects and prevention of mental illness topics. I was surprised at how aware the student was about mental illnesses. We also had the chance to join the ‘Program Mengacau Bubur Asyura’ with the other teachers. It was such a sweet and memorable experience and we were able to bring some home.

3. Points to remember from Week 2

Be prepared

The day before the examination, I should be prepared and learn about the upcoming experiment that will be conducted so that I can assist the teacher better in the control room.

Learn how to be assertive

I noticed how sometimes I can be passive in controlling the students when they are too excited. They can be very loud and may disturb the learning session of the other classes. I did warn them when it was getting out of control, but in my opinion, I should be more assertive and teach them to be controlled.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

It was another adventure when I had to work very closely with the other teachers during becoming the examination invigilator. But at the same time, it was a fun experience to be able to be a part of examination control, especially a practical test.

I can see that the second week is better than the first week as I was adapting better. There are more teachers and students that I was able to engage and communicate with throughout the week. This caused me to be more comfortable and adapt well in school.

5. One good thing from what you did that you can practice now

Mental illness awareness

It was a good initiation to expose to students the significance of mental illness health as young as possible. I can see the insight and worries of the students even though they are just 13 years old. With the evolving technologies and pressure from parents to strive in academics to family problems, they are exposed to a variety of mental illnesses. By having talks with them, this can give the help and reassurance that they may need. I planned to do this to more classes in the future.

6. Any difficulties/ concerns? How did you cope?

Students being too loud may disturb other classes

It was hard to control the class, especially when the students got too excited. I managed to overcome this by giving demerits to the group when the group gets too loud during studying games.

Awkward between the teachers

Sometimes it can get awkward when the conversation with the other teacher stops as we had nothing to talk about. I may overthink the situation. I managed to overcome this by remembering that this is normal when meeting new people. This thinking makes me less pressured to make conversation with the other parties.

7. Your plan for the next week (week 3)

Teaching mathematics

I was assigned by a mathematics teacher to teach Form 1 and Form 2.

Mentoring

I was assigned by my supervisor to tutor some Form 5 students.

1. Your name, matric number, date

Bahiratuz Zulfa binti Baharuddin

A180904

30/7/2023 – 3/8/2023

2. How is your progress?

This week marks their first week of midterm examinations. The exam began on Tuesday, so I had two days (Sunday and Monday) to discuss the issues that they were most concerned about. I also managed to do extra classes on the weekend for 2 hours (3.00 pm–5.00 pm) to address topics that hadn't been discussed in class previously. In the middle of class, I played some videos to keep the students awake, as they may be tired from the long period of class. I also shared some simplified notes with the students, as they might feel bored most of the time reading a wordy textbook. Moreover, most of the students also complained they had difficulty extracting key information from the textbook, therefore, sharing the notes is the best thing I can do to help the students. I also had the opportunity to pack the exam sheets with other teachers and become an examiner during the exam, where I generally distributed the exam sheets and collected them once the exam was finished.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

When engaging with the students in the class, I discovered that some students may find the lesson dull or slow, thus a teacher should be able to make the class more interesting. Some strategies I discovered include having a creative lesson, such as organizing a group discussion for them to brainstorm together. As a result, it can help students to think creatively and collaborate with their peers. My biology supervisor once advised me not to begin the class straight away, but rather to begin with a warm-up narrative to allow them settle in and focus on what is going on.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

It was a hectic week as I had to prepare a lot of things in a short amount of time in order to give the students the best I could before the exam. I took the exam seriously because it was my last chance before my elective posting ended. I was eager to share with them what I had learned in medical school to make the topic more fascinating. All the hard work paid off, as I feel rewarded by student praise for making the concepts seem easy. I was happy that they had a better understanding of the subject, and they assured me that they would do their best to score well in the exam.

5. ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

Try your best in every situation you are in, although it may be challenging for you to encounter it at times.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

It was sometimes tough for me to teach them because their understanding differed from ours. As a result, it took me a long time to explain and correct their misunderstanding. They also frequently ask questions that we are unable to answer. I did my best to answer their questions, but if I couldn't, I did my best to get back to them once I did. Not to mention, the terms we used appear tough for them because they are unfamiliar with the term. Therefore, I need to remind myself to always use a simple term so that they can absorb the information easily.

7. Your plan for next week (Week 3)

As the remaining two weeks were full of exams, the school assigned me to supervise the class during the exam. My biology supervisor also asked me to assist her in marking student examination sheets.

SECOND WEEK AS A TEACHER AT E.L. PRESCHOOL JUASSEH NEGERI SEMBILAN

1.	Your name, matric number, date
Wafa Thohirah binti Mohd Sabri, A182369, 31/7/2023-4/8/2023

2.	How is your progress?
For my second week at this preschool, I can see the bond between me and the kids, teachers also the assistant getting better. Whatever activities we do together become smoother. And this week, I am aware that there are a few kids that have unfortunately been diagnosed with HFMD(hand, foot, and mouth disease) so the teachers will check each kid with the sign and symptoms of HFMD every day because we don’t want the disease spread among them.

3.	Points to remember from week 2!
Firstly, I learned that I need to be strict with the kids sometimes especially if they do something dangerous or something bad, I cannot be gentle with them all the time because consequently, the kids will not listen to my words and give respect to me even the teacher there asked me not to spoil the kids too much. With a strict attitude, not just they will take our words more seriously, but they will also learn from their mistake and understand “Oh this is not good or it will make our teachers mad😕”.
Secondly, this week to be more specific on Thursday, I became very sleepy and because of that I kind of felt that my work was not so efficient and everything become hard for me especially to interact with the kids. Then, I realized maybe it was because I didn’t drink coffee like the other day also I need to sleep earlier in other to accomplish my objective everyday🫡.
Lastly, I need to know basic medical things like how to use a first aid kit as one of my kids this week had so much bleeding on his foot(the dry wound bleeding badly because he tend to unconsciously scratch the wound)☹️. Luckily, I was familiar with the aid kid box and can still manage the situation.

4.	Your feelings & thoughts
To be honest, I feel more comfortable with them and I am proud of myself because this elective posting helps me to go out of my comfort zone. I hope that I want to experience more exciting and challenging journeys in the future and be ready to face any new situation and learn something from each of them.

5.	One good thing about what you did is that you can practice now!
As we know that the most difficult part in preschool is when the kids are crying(looking for their parents). So for these 2 weeks, I learned how to tackle them when they’re crying. It is just that I need to understand their concern and the reason behind the tears so that I can console them and make them feel better.

6.	Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?
If I have to choose between hyper kids and silent kids which one is most difficult to handle, obviously I will choose the silent kids. In my preschool, there are a few kids that have speech delays and my concern is that I cannot understand them much compared to other kids. These groups of kids usually tend to let their friends do anything to them, they even sometimes give their belongings to their friends if their friends asked for them and let their friends beat them(worst scenario), somehow this situation hurt my feeling badly. They also hard to express their feeling, when they injured themselves, they are not crying as much as others😢. How I cope with this kind of kid is by being alert if something happened around them.

7.	Your plan for next week (Week 3)
My plan for next week I will just do my routine with the kids but I want to understand them better also I plan to get some gifts for them before I end my elective posting in 2 weeks left.

Second Week as a Celcom Staff at MAHA Partners & Co.

1) Your name, matric number, date

Nursyifa Nadhirah Binti Zulkefli

A184001

31/7/2023 - 4/8/2023

2) How is your progress?

On the first day of the second week, I was handed a PC and a headset with a microphone so that I could finally try to speak with the customer. I was first really anxious since, unlike the previous week, when I could only observe how the staff interacted with customers, this time I was able to try it out for myself. Fortunately, the first customer I spoke with was quite kind and cooperative. When I talked, I was a little nervous and my speech wasn't very smooth, but the other staff members encouraged me and constantly offered words of encouragement. On the first day, I was able to collect my first payment from three customers at once, making it my first collection.

Later in the day, I began to speak frequently in order to improve the fluency of my conversations with clients. My manager and a few other employees took a trip abroad on Thursday and Friday. I was given the responsibility by my manager to keep an eye on the other staff who were still working and to update the day's total collection. I have made significant progress over the past two days in terms of dialogue and confidence while communicating with clients, and I no longer stutter.

3) Points to remember from week 2!

During the 2nd week at the Celcom department, I learned that there are two types of Celcom customers, both of which have different approaches. The first is the customer whose account gets call barred and the second is the customer whose account has been terminated. For call barred customers we need to speak more delicately because they are still active in the Celcom subscription. We do not want to receive any complaints from Celcom customers that cause them to no longer want to use Celcom services. Whereas for customers who have terminated their Celcom account, we need to explain more carefully why they still have the final bill and the effect on their IC restriction if they do not clear their payment at all.

Another thing to remember is how to follow up with customers who have promised to make a payment. During customer follow-up, I need to remind them to send receipts or proof of bill payment to make it easier for their names to be cleared from the system.

4) Your feelings & thoughts

I feel that this second week is very challenging because it involves communication and to communicate with customers we need to have solid knowledge about the product that is Celcom. I also find it quite challenging especially when communicating with difficult customers. Nevertheless, I feel very happy every time I come to the office because the staff are very kind and always help me by explaining something that I don't understand.

5) ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

Don't overthink and just do it. Every morning before I start my work to contact customers I would get very nervous and scared, but I always remind myself not to overthink and that I can do my work very well and everything will go smoothly.

6) Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

I initially had a little trouble speaking clearly. My speech stutters, my voice is very slow when I speak to my initial customers, and I frequently forget to convey crucial information. To make my future conversations more fluid and ensure that I don't forget any crucial details, I do, however, practise speaking to myself a lot once I get home from work. I also paid close attention to how other members of the staff speak to customers before attempting to imitate them.

7) Your plan for next week (Week 3)

My plan for the next week is to try to achieve as much collection as possible to reach the target given to me by the manager which is RM 1500 for call barred and RM 5000 for terminated account. I also plan to improve the way I speak when talking to customers.

Second Week as Kindergarten Teacher at PUPIS!

1. Your name, matric number, date:

Nur Amirah Syuhadah binti Halib

A181133

(31/7/2023 - 4/8/2023)

2. How is your progress?

Everything is fine so far. I think I'm doing better than I was. I also enjoy the work as the gaps between me and the kids and other teachers are getting closer.

For my second week in the kindergarten school, I had few relief classes as the teacher was absent due to sickness. Among the activities that I would do was drawing and coloring but for 6 years old students, I would normally ask the teachers if they had handouts that they want me to use when I had their relief class and we would have discussion after that. We also had sport practices (football and netball) for the upcoming sports event. Apart from that, I was assigned a task to monitor a student who is participating in the story-telling competition, Felina Zulaika to make sure she practices her skills and techniques in the correct way. I was also actively participated in preparation of 'Bubur Asyura' to be distributed among all the students and staff at Pasti Al- Badar (PUPIS).

3. Points to remember from week 2!

Children can be easily influenced by what they see or hear around them so it is very important to guide and teach them in an appropriate and positive manner.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

I love their innocence and joy about the smallest, seemingly insignificant things. They teach me every day to appreciate the little things in life.

5. ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

Be more confident at work. No matter how down I feel, I'll try to pat myself on the back a little and remember the things I did excel at. This will boost my sense of worth and help me to be more confident in myself.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

Typically, kindergarten students are still young enough to need help with basic daily activities, such as sharpening a color pencil, putting on their shoes, using tissues, sharing stuff, or finding the toilet. So, I need to be gentle with them and guide them with kindness so that they will be more confident to complete their daily tasks successfully.

7. Your plan for next week (Week 3)

My plan for next week is to continue my current schedule and learn as much as I can and gain more experience with kids so that it will become beneficial for me in the future.

1. Your name, matric number, date.
Navitha A/P Sitambaram,
A181427
31/07/2023 - 06/08/2023

2. How is your progress?
I had improved in handling young children by changing my approach and tackling them in different ways. For instance, I figured out that 3 to 4 year olds needs more hands on trainings while older children tends to understand theory. Apart from that, methods of teaching also vary from person to person. In which, some students love to work in groups and learn together while others love to tackle problems on their own. Moreover, I also learnt how to organize and carry out pre-school projects in a more systematic way. I had a chance to organize the preschool's sports day event. I worked hand in hand with other teachers as well as other volunteers to put the event together . Which includes purchasing T shirts, and preparing gifts, preparing food and beverages as well as in handling the students in the field.
I also had an opportunity to strengthen my bond with students and parents during the event. This helped me in gaining more social skills and leadership skills.

3. Points to remember from week 2?
Problem solving skill is important for many circumstances. This is because during the sports event the weather was not favorable. We had to act fast and make a quick wise decision to proceed or to postpone the event. However cancelling the event would cost too much in terms of food wastage as well as time and energy to put the event together. Finally, quick and decisive action made the event a success.
Apart from that, I also learnt that I should always be ready and alert when things does not favor. It is important to keep back up plans such as renting a roofed hall or approaching nearby school to secure a tented area for the event to take place.

4. Your feelings and thoughts.
I was very excited and enthusiastic to organize and take part in the event as it had been ages since I stepped into kindergarten. I had fun and excitement throughout the event starting from organizing it to the very day. I am also satisfied that the event came out as a success and the teachers, students and parents had a great day. It also helped the young children to identify their talents in sports from a very young age. This perhaps encourages them to pursue in various types of sports later in life.

5. One good thing from what you did that you can practice now ?
Leadership skill is one of the crucial skills I learnt throughout the elective posting especially in organizing big events. This helped me to work with others and make right decisions to carry out an event.

6. Any difficulties / concerns ? How did you cope?
I had difficulty in handling kids and getting them to do what needs to be done. I had a hard time to try to keep them steady and quiet as not to disrupt the event. Things get hard when children refuse to listen to the teachers and continue to do the inappropriate. I cope up with this by rewarding them when they listen to the commands. This encouraged other students to keep quiet and serene until the event ends.

7. Your plan for next week ( Week 3) .
My plan for week 3 is to focus more on academics as students spent half a day everyday in sports training for the past few weeks. Focusing on academics would be important so that they do not lag behind when graduate into primary school.

How is your progress?
For my second week, the things that I have done are:
- Guiding the students in reciting Quran (Iqra'). Some of them are very fast learner. I mostly focus on weaker students.
- Helping a few students to prepare for their school's speech presentation. We work together for the preparation. After some guidance and practices, I can notice that they are more confident now.
- Monitor them on finishing their school homework by providing some reference books.
- Question and answer session regarding our Kemerdekaan.

3. Points to remember from week 2!
- The way of children understanding varies. Thus, requires different approach for each of them.
- Teachers need to be alert at every moment.

4. Your feelings & thoughts
In the second week, I feel more motivated after looking at the students who are eager to learn new things.

5. ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now!
Be knowledgeable and give 100% attention to the students. Sometimes, when we ask the students, they tend to say that they understand the homework. However, some of them will not have a full understanding. By giving full attention to the students, I realise that they tend to share everything with me without any hesitation. If they do not understand certain things, they will ask, and I will make sure that they get the idea. This makes them enjoy and speed up their learning process.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?
Concern about the student's safety. I make sure that the surroundings are safe for them. For example, by locking the door, windows are close properly and toilet are not slippery.

7. Your plan for next week (Week 3)
I will continue with my daily routine and try to connect more with the students. Furthermore, I plan to conduct coloring contest among the students with the theme of Hari Kemerdekaan. I have to find the materials and prepare it for them.

We went on an incredible field trip to the fire station with the parents. The teachers and parents were allowed to try on heavy fireman suits and even played with a big fire hose – it was so fun! Our little kawan-kawan got excited while trying on cute fireman costumes. This trip taught us cool stuff and made our group closer.

Furthermore, I also joined the GENIUS activities, where the children explore and try new things, Exploring, Experimenting, and Experiencing (3E). I played the little kawan-kawan, 1-2 years old, play with sand to get better at using their hands. One child appeared ticklish and hesitant with the sand, while another three confidently played a game of lost and found with toys hidden in the sand. My supervisor explained that this activity enhances their fine motor skills. On the other hand, the 3-year-old children had a blast splashing in a small pool, while the curious 4-year-olds went on a nature walk with many questions asked to the teachers. They made mini terrariums the next day.

Lastly, In response to the challenges I faced last week, I did something about it! I got to know teachers better by sharing breakfast and talking more. This small gesture opened the door to more engaging interactions. I found myself exchanging stories about family, studies, and various topics. They even asked funny health questions. These interactions have brought us closer, and I look forward to nurturing further.

3. Points to remember from week 2

Patience and repetition are the points I would like to remember during week 2. Engaging in the GENIUS activities, I learned that even though children are the same age, they develop uniquely. The teachers patiently guided each child on their progress and I noticed how repetition played a vital role in their advancement. This observation highlighted the significance of patience, dedication and consistent practice in nurturing a child's growth and learning.

4. Your feelings and thoughts

Reflecting on the past weeks, a strong sense of happiness fills me as I realize time has passed. Completing two weeks feels like a significant achievement, reaching the midpoint of this journey. Being with the teachers and the children, I learned a lot and it has been a source of joy these two weeks. It warms my heart to see the children feel comfortable approaching me for help and they enthusiastically respond to my queries. They even tell me stories about their time at home and the fun things they did on the weekends. These talks make my experience even better, reminding me how important it is to build strong bonds and help them grow in every way.

5. ONE good thing from what you did that you can practice now

One big thing I have learned here is how important it is the significance of getting along with colleagues of different ages. Something that stood out to me is the idea of "give and take," like sharing food or talking. At first, adapting to this was challenging to fit in with different generations. However, I see now that it takes time to build good relationships. I acknowledge that having good connections with colleagues makes work more manageable and less stressful. I am determined to keep this in mind and create positive relationships in the future, even in the new environment.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

I faced a challenge while assisting the little kawan-kawan daily routine. I was eager to help them with tasks like dressing and brushing their teeth. I felt the urge to speed things up as they were slow due to their young age with limited self-management skills. However, the teachers suggested I give them simple instructions and observe how the children tackle each task. It was a bit hard, but I restrained myself and let them do it themselves. It made me realize that even though they're toddlers, they can handle these tasks independently. I also noticed the older kids, especially the 4-year-olds, managing these activities alone. This experience taught me the importance of promoting their independence.

7. Your plan for next week (week 3)

Next week, I want to talk to the teachers about how I can help the school. I'll share my ideas on things I allow to create a better learning experience for them. I hope by working together, we can make the environment more fun!
