         <description><![CDATA[<p>1764: Sugar Act (Cause protests because people couldn’t afford sugar and were angry because it affected the Ron industry. It was cheaper for British traders to bring sugar than for the Americans to produce it there. the Americans protested and made some boycotts.</p>]]></description>

         <title>The Intolerable Acts 1774</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Also called the Coercive Acts, this acts focused Massachusetts. The Port Bill closed Boston Harbor until Boston paid for the tea that was destroyed in the Boston Tea Party. Other acts almost eliminated self-government in Massachusetts. New additions to the Quartering Act forced colonists to house British soldiers in private homes as necessary. The delegates from the colonies made the first continental congress and even created the Continental association to boycott Britain.</p>]]></description>
