This visible thinking routine is under the category of "Digging Deeper into Ideas." During this routine, students take on a character's perspective and must think, speak, and act like that character. They can brainstorm before hand with some guided questions from the teacher.

Students will be given six photos that are zoomed in through our digital platform "Curve." These photos will be snippets that contribute to the text Animal Farm. The students will create a Google Slides presentation or a Prezi presentation (their choice), where they will showcase the picture and their inference about how the picture is related to the text or offers meaning to the text. Students will turn this in. Then, as a class, we will go through each picture. I will ask students what they inferred initially, and then I will zoom out on the photo, revealing what the picture truly is and how it connects to our novel.

After reading Antigone, students will be grouped into teams of four, where they will have to embody their character using the circle of viewpoints method. Each student in the group will be given a different character from the text, and they must take on that character's perspective. They will use the circle of viewpoints guiding questions to help them generate what they the character might think, say, and act. Then, the students will be given a random scene that they must act out from their character's perspective. For example, students might be in a doctor's office setting. How would Antigone, Creon, the Muse, and Polyneicies act towards each other and to the doctor in this setting? The students will use their laptops to film a short Youtube video of their scene. Then, we will watch their scenes as a class!
