My social justice philosophy is grounded in transformative leadership. As an educational advocate for culturally diverse students, I believe we must have the moral courage to critique the harsh realities of structural racism that exists in our society, and still have hope that our advocacy, leadership, and practices will effect substantive change in the lives of children of color. My core belief is that marginalized students deserve equitable educational access and effective instruction to reach their fullest potential. This belief has taken me on a personal and professional journey from special educator, to literacy coach, to doctoral student in the field of Social Justice Leadership for Education.
