It is a way for him to quickly communicate with the people and express his views on the issue pertaining to Nike and the NFL. This is because Colin Kaepernick began to start taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality. However, Trump interpreted it as being disrespectful to the country by not standing during the national anthem. This sparked a movement among NFL players who also began taking a knee during the national anthem and some even going as far as staying in the locker room until the national anthem was over. Soon after this Nike decided to make Kaepernick the face of the “Just Do It” campaign. Trump immediately took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the topic by bashing Nike.
