We used shaving foam for clouds, water and food colouring. 

The children filled a jar with water and sprayed shaving foam on the top of the water. They then added drops of food colouring represetning rain and watched it flow down from the cloud of shaving foam. 
The colours represented pollution, the shaving foam clouds and the water represented the rain.
The children observed how the water slowly lost its transparency and became dull, hence polluting it.

The children enjoyed pouring different amounts of water into each glass and watching the water change colour because of the food colouring inside.
They then used plastic spoons, wooden spoons and stainless steel spoons to explore the difference in the sound each material made when it hit the glass.
The children noticed that the different amounts of water in the glasses made different sounds!

They used Styrofoam cups, drinking straws and masking tape to create a water pipeline model.
They had to figure out a way to build a stand for one of the  cups, so that it was higher than the other. Some used the straws and tape and some used legos.

Apart from keeping us and nature clean and healthy, it has one of the most important purpose which is that of generating energy. The children after viewing powerpoints and video clips about the purposes of water they were invited to create a water wheel. 
They learnt how energy could be generated by the flow of water by pouring the water from a jug into one of the cups of the water wheel.
While watching the wheel begin to rotate as the water flows, the children counted how many rotations the wheel made using a 1 litre jug.
