Many cultural elements including European, African, and Taino are prominent in Dominican food, family structure, religion, and music. Taino crafts are best known in the country, mainly made of clay or stone with Taino motifs, as well as pictures and paintings full of color. The music of the Dominican Republic is influenced by West African, European, and native Taino influences. The Dominican Republic is mainly known for its Merengue and Bachata music, both of which are the most popular forms of music in the Dominican Republic.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the Dominican Republic, foods are wide and vary but they heavily lean on starches. These starches include rice, yucca, cassava, and bananas. Bananas and plantains are usually boiled, stewed, and then candied, these are especially popular in the Dominican Republic. The meat they eat is mainly, pork, beef, chicken, and sometimes even goat. One of the most popular pork dishes is Lechon Asado, which is made by marinating a whole pig and then roasting the pig all day, this dish is normally made for occasions such as holidays.</div>]]></description>

A president, like in the United States, is elected every 4 years. Its official language is Spanish. Its capital is Santo Domingo and it is a very popular tourist attraction. Cuba, an island country near the Dominican Republic had a popular figure in history. Fidel Castro. He started a revolution in Cuba and wasn't a very good guy. A lot of refugees from Cuba flew to the Dominican Republic for freedom.</div>]]></description>
