This is a good example of how using a single note can push forward the message of the song. Drake is talking about his feelings for a certain women and wants to make sure the listeners understand this message by making the especially important lines to use this idea of a single note. There is a noticable note that keeps repeating during the duration of the song and has a certain meaning. The lyrics of the song talk about the musician growing up and the coming of age and this repetitive note sequence sends the message that times are speeding up for the rapper.
