Based on what the stakeholders require from the learning

Can include things like WBA- formative, but can be used as a single point of reference for programmatic assessments e.g CEX, DOPS, CBD, 360 feedback.

Summative- i.e. OSCES, PACES- to drive learning and motivations. (Utilising real patients or simulated, replicating real life)

Programmatic- CPD, ARCP

Miller's Pyramid- targeting the higher levels such as shows, Blooms taxonomy utilising higher level verbs,
Constructive alignment- Biggs, to design teaching sessions in the workplace. 

The need to analyse the progress of a trainee and to highlight areas of remediation.
