He was a co-founder, chairman and CEO of Apple. He was also a CEO and major shareholder of Pixar, and a member of Walt Disney's board of directors. Apple was co-founded alongside Steve Wozniak to sell Wozniak's personal computer, Apple I. Apple only gained fame and wealth when they released Apple II, one of the first mass produced personal computers. The next computer, the Apple Lisa, was unsuccessful in 1983. After this they built the Macintosh, which was the first mass-produced computer with a GUI. In 1985, after developing the first laser printer as well as the introduction of the desktop publishing industry, Jobs was forced out of apple.
Jobs took a few of his workers to create NeXT, a computer platform company specializing in computers for higher education and business markets. He also helped fund the first fully computer automated film, Toy Story.
In 1997 NeXT merged with Apple, and jobs became the CEO of Apple again, reviving Apple when they were on the verge of being bankrupt. From there they have been creating many successful products such as iMac, iPod, iPhone and the iPad.
He was diagnosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor in 2003 and died in 2011 of respiratory arrest related to the tumor

He was a computer scientist, mathematician, logician, crypt analyst and theoretical biologist. He created algorithms which he applied to a machine known as the "Turning Machine". This was one of the first general purpose computers created during world war 2 fir the Government Code and Cipher School. This was located at Bletchley park which is Britain's code breaking center, this was responsible for for breaking German ciphers  a lot of these being from the German navy. This team was called Hut 8 and they intercepted teleprinter links. He made many improvements to previous machines before hand such as the "Bombe" which was a decryption method created in Poland. He is most famous for a machine he made called the Turing machine in 1936. It is an  abstract machine which means it has an input and an output with a set of allowable operations in between to turn the input into the desired output you may have. In this case it would decrypt German transmissions, it works by simulating the algorithms logic to break it, it is based on an infinite system which means the memory tape is divided into cells. The head is then positioned over these cells and it reads the symbols on the cells. Then per symbol it will complete the user specified instructions whether it be a letter, digit or number even erasing it until the symbols develop a meaning. This led to two questions but the latter of these was proving the fundamental limitations on the power of mechanical computation. While they can complete arbitrary tasks they cannot be used for real world applications as with out volatile Random Access memory it has no way of storing things such as the brief task instructions.

After the war he worked at the National Physical laboratory where he designed ACE which was the first stored program computer, this however was prohibited due to the secrecy of what happened at Bletchly park. Turing was prosecuted in 1952 for homosexual acts, he accepted chemical castration treatment, before dying in 1954.

In 1975 he and partner Paul Allen Co-founded Microsoft. During his time with the company he was the CEO and chief software architect being the largest shareholder until 2014. he has been in the top 100 wealthiest people since 1987. This money comes from Microsoft where he revolutionized the personal computer market. He studies mathematics and computer science at Harvard where he created algorithms for pancake sorting which held a record for the fastest solution in 30 years. He did not have a study plan but spent a lot of time using the computers, they saw the release of the Altair 8800 which was an Intel CPU and took the opportunity to start a software development company. He dropped out of Harvard for this and developed an Altair emulator that ran on a minicomputer and a basic interpreter for this. This sparked the interest of MIT and created a partnership where Microsoft was developed. This software was pirated on a large scale of 90% of the users not paying for it. This led to Bill creating a letter about this claiming that developers should charge for there creations and not long after the partnership with MIT ended. IBM then approached Microsoft about an OS for there upcoming computer but they turned them down, after other attempts they finally agreed and bought an OS made by a different developer and optimized this for computers. He knew this would be cloned and so did not offer the transfer of copyright meaning the sales made a huge impact on Microsoft in the industry. Before long this became an industry standard and all software was optimized for it so no competitors could compete with the OS. it also developed as computers developed with schools and businesses training people in it, this made it harder for people to choose a different OS where no one had experience with it and software would not work for it. He continued his role until 2006 where he stepped down as CEO and became chief architect and finally in 2014 sold some of his shares.

Wozniak built the Apple I in 1976 single handedly. The Apple I sold for $666. He also designed the Apple II, whilst Rod Holt developed a unique supply and Steve Jobs oversaw the development of its unusual case.
