My own personal way of budgeting is using this app, YNAB. My Fiancee' and I both share the same family budget, and it allows us to track our spending in categories of our choosing.

It takes an interesting approach to budgeting. Let's say you have $1000. You have to give each dollar a "Job", so:
$150 - Groceries
$100 - gas
$200 - Phone
$550 - Travel Savings

There is no "slush fund" because you have a category for it. It encourages you to budget for future expenses down the line, and allows you to be flexible, by transferring money from category to category if one ends up spending too much.

It is $90 a year, but it has saved be several thousand dollars, so completely worth the purchase for myself

-Brogan

Out of all your groceries, the most expensive parts are:
1. Pre-processed foods
2. Meat

As for pre-processed foods, that is your deal on what you like to eat/want to eat.

For meat, try out G-market! I was skeptical at first as well, however, the meat shows up frozen at your door, in 3inch thick Styrofoam containers, and includes and ice pack. I've had 10kg of chicken breast stay frozen in front of my door for over 10 hours with 0 signs of defrosting.

Personally, I get chicken here, as well as frozen pork,
http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/English/detailview/item.aspx?goodscode=289909258

brocolli, cauliflower, asparagus, etc.
http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/English/detailview/item.aspx?goodscode=172716963

To those squeemish about frozen food, know that the vast majority of restaurants that you go to, use frozen foods as their meat sources anyways, so don't feel like you're getting "lesser quality" meat!
