Rosa Parks was a black civil rights activist. She is most famous for refusing to give up her seat to a white rider on a segregated bus in Alabama. She spurred from there the 381-day Montgomery Bus Boycott, a very important nationwide effort which would help achieve civil rights.

Rosa Parks lived in Montgomery Alabama, which is also the sight of her most famous bus rebellion. Her actions caused the most effect in the heavily segregated areas of the Southern Us, but also impacted blacks all over the country and the world as they looked to her example to fight for their rights. The location of her bus boycott is significant because it was one of the most segregated communities in the world at this time.

Birth: Feb 4,1913
Death: Oct 24, 2005
This time frame of her life is significant because by her middle age she was in the heart of the civil rights movement of the 1960's. If she were born in a different time when these rights were not already being fought for, her actions on the bus would not have made as large of an impact for civil rights as it would be ignored.

Rosa parks is important to the historical timeline of the US because she was one of the major forces of the civil rights movement. Without her brave actions, we may have still clear segregation today or civil rights would've at least taken a lot longer to come around. With her example, people stood up for themselves and fought for their right, and that is what made her important
