What food is like, and what it looks like in Thailand

This is some delicious food that I ate while I was at Bangkok, Thailand, and it had very interesting but delicious recipes. The people that worked that food stands were very nice and generous people, and very good salesmen. It smelled soo good while you walk by the food stands.

Tom Yum Goong - Spicy Shrimp Soup

Ingredients - 2 quarts chicken broth

2 stalks fresh lemongrass, sliced on a bias in 2-inch pieces

4 kaffir lime leaves

1-inch piece fresh galangal or ginger, sliced

]2 red chiles, sliced

2 tablespoons fish sauce, such as nam pla

1 1/2 teaspoons sugar

1 (8-ounce) can straw mushrooms, rinsed and halved

1 pound large shrimp, peeled with tails on

2 limes, juiced

2 green onions, sliced

1 handful fresh cilantro, chopped

Bring the stock to the boil over medium heat in a saucepan. Add the lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and chiles. Lower the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes to let the spices infuse the broth.

Uncover and add the fish sauce, sugar, and mushrooms. Simmer for 5 minutes. Toss in the shrimp and cook for about 8 minutes until they turn pink. Remove from the heat and add the lime juice, green onions, and cilantro. Taste for salt and spices; you should have an equal balance of spicy, salty, and sour. It's a good idea to tell your guest's that the lemongrass and lime leaves are for flavor only and should be avoided when eating the soup.
Tastes EXTREMELY good and is a popular recipe.

Thai language is the most common language spoken throughout Thailand, many Thais also speak and understand English, though more so in Bangkok and the major tourist areas. I tried to learn Thai language. I learned a couple of words and sentences, like how to say “Hi, what is your name?” and stuff like that. Thai is also spoken fast, so it is kind of hard for me to speak fluently and answer quickly.

Hello - สวัสดี

How are you? - เป็นอย่างไรบ้าง

My name is_____ - สวัสดีชื่อฉันคือ

What's your name? - คุณชื่ออะไร?

Bye - บาย

These are what most streets look like, you can see that there also lots of food stands and lots of people and many stores and markets. The place was so crowded and it was very loud, there was music and people yelling and a lot more, it was very different from here because here we don't have many food stands on the sidewalks, we usually have stores like Walmart, Winco, Costco etc.
