We first met Warren when he came with Rena to our Chinese New Year church gathering. He came with a huge bowl of fried noodles, even though he didn’t need to - and we were so thankful for his generosity.

He heated the noodles in an oven, as we didn’t have a microwave oven then. And somehow it didn’t quite turn out as expected. It was a silly moment that made all of us laugh because then we were prompted to get a microwave. Because of that, he insisted on cooking for us again.

The next time, he cooked chicken curry and fried rice for the church group and it was simply delicious!

He was always cheerful and warm. While we are sad that he is no longer with us, we are assured that we will see him again in heaven.

May the peace and comfort of God fill Rena and Warren’s family’s hearts, and surround them with his Presence and Love.

With love,

Pastor Janice, Pastor Lois and Brother Aaron

We are very thankful to have had the opportunity to recently spend Christmas with Warren. Enjoying a lovely meal together he was his usual bright and inquisitive self, asking about everything from what our favourite London attractions are to the where the best Fish + Chips can be found and even how the shop Argos operates!

Anyone who has ever met Warren will be able to attest to his warmth, good humour and generosity. He very kindly spent much of our recent time together advising us on places to visit and things to see on our upcoming trip to Malaysia, expressing his wish to show us around KL (and take us to the best eating spots) himself if possible.

We will always cherish the time we spent with Warren and are fortunate to have such recent memories of his good company.

Whilst it is impossible not to feel that he was taken too soon, we are grateful to remember Warren undiminished, in fine form, surrounded by family, with good food, good stories and good(ish) wine.

Rest in peace, Uncle Warren. You will be missed.

With Love,

Harry + Sophie

My deepest condolences to Rena & Warren Ho’s family on the sudden departure of my Brother in Arms.

I have know Warren for the past 56 years as we were kindergarten mates & progressed on to our schooling life in Anglo Chinese School, Ipoh. He has always been studious & actively participated in extracurricular activities. During our formative years, we had the privilege to be exposed to Christian teachings as this formed an integral part of Warren’s adult life and his firm belief in our Lord.

Being ambitious & motivated, Warren has achieved success in his career as a Chartered Accountant. For one, I have always admire him for his financial astuteness and his unselfishness in serving above self in his career path.

Warren & I have always been hunters of good food as we hailed from Ipoh which is a foodie paradise. His summer holidays are usually spend back in his hometown. Infact, I have the privilege to spend time with him during his holidays in Ipoh for the past decade be it eating meals together, shorts trips, gathering with friends and having a drink & reminiscent of the good old days. He was indeed a good companion with plenty of laughters all around.

I will truly miss your companionship & brotherhood. I am thankful for God who has provided an understanding, generous and supportive friend which I will miss dearly in the years to come. Rest well my honoured friend for we both live with the motto, “The Best is Yet to Be”.

Mates for Life

Ferric Yeong Kee Bong

We shall certainly remember Uncle Warren with much fondness, having shared countless celebrations, meals, holidays and trips with him. He was always smiling, cheerful and optimistic, ever ready with a dry quip or wry comment about the state of world affairs.

And he certainly loved food, especially if it was "Peng, Leng, Jeng"... and one could see his joy when sharing his new food discoveries with his friends and family. He was always on the lookout for a bargain, not because he was stingy, but because he understood that his achievements were the result of hard work and wise stewardship. Indeed, he was always extremely generous to us, be it in gifts, meals or in his time. He was always willing to sit and chat with anyone about any subject, was never impatient and always keen to hear your views and opinions.

Most of all, he loved my Aunty Rena. Since the start of their relationship, he had always been her ever present source of strength and support. I have never seen him lose his patience with her. His love and faithfulness for her never wavered, and extended to all her family. He was always available to help us to fix, arrange, advise on, transport, carry or write to a higher authority about... anything.

Rest well Uncle Warren, I look forward to seeing you again in that wonderful place. Let's chat and share a meal then.

Ee Khoon, Joanne and Family

I don't remember when I first met him, because he knew me before I could even walk. He was a close friend of ours and will be missed dearly. The qualities that set him apart from others was his overwhelming generosity and his passion for cooking delicious meals. My favourite dish was rice with Chinese sausage which we called "yau mei fan." He would always invite us over for dinner and he treated us like family. I will miss him, but I'm confident that he is now being taken care of with the highest form of hospitality there is.

Aiden

I still remember all the times we went to eat peking duck, and I would fall asleep at the restaurant and wake up in the car, thanks to him carrying me there. He also cooked the best food, I will always miss his Yao Mei Fan. He always cooked it for us when we visited, and I know when I meet him again he will have it ready for us.

Aaron

I sat next to and worked with Warren during my time at Mancell. He was an amazing colleague, teacher, mentor and friend. I remember the many conversations we had during work, it could have been about anything. I always enjoyed our chats and loved how passionate he was about what he did. This was something I looked up to and admired about him. When I asked him if you had a choice to do anything in this world, he would tell me he is doing exactly that. I take my hat off to him for this, doing exactly what he always wanted to do. He was one of the smartest people I know. Often comparing our different cultures and ages, he would often ask me what they would call certain things today with people my age or in the Aussie slang. He was a very patient and compassionate person, never not willing to answer a question I had and willing to take time to help me learn something. Or if I would give him a call asking how to do something or if would be happy to look at my university work, he would never say no. I came to find what a great mentor and friend Warren was. We would regularly talk on the train to and from work and this continued even after I had moved on from Mancell. He would always be willing to offer wisdom and share advice. Warren showed a real interest and care about not only my career but my life in general. Warren had a big impact on my life and I will miss him deeply. I would always enjoy our conversations and seeing him would bring a smile to my face as I would say Wazza how are you? To his family, I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope reading this brings you peace with just how influential Warren was, he truly was a great person and it just shows what a great family you are. I'm sure Warren is looking down at you all and is so proud of each of you. Warren would often speak about you Mrs Ho, referring to you as his other half. I'm sure we would have met soon enough but it was lovely to finally meet you. If you would ever want to chat sometime about anything or to speak about Warren I would love to. My phone number is 0488 725 218. Rest in Peace Warren, I will miss you.

Love,

Matt
