Es handelt sich um ein impressionistisches Frühwerk, welches auf Basis der Ideologie des französischen Künstlers Paul Gauguin erstellt wurde und die charakteristischen Merkmale wie verschwimmende Formen und viele kleine Pinselstriche nebeneinander harmonisch darstellt.
Paul Gauguin ist vor allem durch seine Gemälde aus der Südsee bekannt. Zudem war Gauguin nicht nur prägend für die klassische Moderne, sondern war auch Wegbereiter des Expressionismus und spielte eine wichtige Rolle für die Entwicklung der europäischen Malerei.
