What was questionable about this experiment was the fact that it was the mistreatment and embarrassment of the prisoners. The guards unquestionably abused their power upon the prisoners and caused serious harm to the prisoners, not realizing that the roles could have easily been switched due to them being participants in the experiment. This was beyond unethical due to the simple fact that people were hurt during this experiment.

What made this experiment questionable was the simple fact that the participants were manipulated and lied to. It would have been more ethical to use real participants for the experiment and just have everyone say the wrong answer except for one. This was also not ethical due to the simple fact that the participant isn't getting a full discloser on the situation they are in.
