1.When using slow motion does slow motion make the scenarios look worse then they are?

Answer: When using slo-mo, does slo-mo make scenarios look worse? Slow motion makes all illegal plays look worse then they are. For example if someone makes tackles some one in the air and they land dangerously slow motion shows the impact and in real life it’s a lot faster so you can’t see the impact as closely. Before slow motion a dangerous tackle or foul play might just be a penalty but now it could be a yellow or red card.

2. When referees use TMO every decision how is the game affected?

Answer:

The All Blacks can only control their side of the match and what they do, but the slowing down of matches via injuries, TMO decisions and slow play can only disadvantage a team that relies on fitness to finish strongly and win. When you are pausing the game for too long it makes the body cool back down and can easily pull a muscle. It slows the game down and allows the team under pressure to recover for longer.

3. How do trackers in sport affect their play?

Answer: Trackers in sport are used for the coaches to see the players top speed and how much ground they cover in a game. It can affect how they play because some players are better at getting to the ball but bs and run different distances. Some players will sprint to the the play and they might get puffed and not be able to use their full potential in the actual game because they are to0 tired to play in the actual plays.

4. Should it be compulsory for referees/umpires to use protective gear in some sports

Answer: In the last 10 years it has been rare for umpires and referees to get injured but it has happened. Cricket players can hit a ball at 100 km and over which can be very dangerous as the umpire isn’t focus on where the shot has been played, because umpires are normally asleep. Ref’s can be injured from hard tackles in the NFL and rugby as the players think they are in the opposite team or they just might be in the way.

5. How does social media affect the performance of sporting players?

Answer: Athletes have to be so careful of what they say on the internet because everybody will know and hear what you say. If you say something that you regret saying everyone in NZ will know before you can take it down. It can also affect how they play, there was an incident when an Australian cricketer named Glenn Maxwell played a bad shot and everyone on social media made him feel horrible.
