Students sit exams for Essential Maths with their official internal assessment supervisor, according to the timelines set by each subject. Students should check with their teacher if they are unsure.

Equipment lists

No matter where you are sitting your exams, if you are sick, unavoidably delayed or cannot attend your exam you must contact us by calling

If there is no answer, leave a clear message with your name and contact number. We will call you straight back.

If you miss your External Exam you cannot take it on another day.

State-wide timetable

Every student (with very few exceptions) will be doing the same exam for each of their General subjects, on the same day, as every other student in that subject.

Students sitting at other Queensland schools.

BrisbaneSDE will inform QCAA of the school you have nominated as the venue for your exams. You will receive an email from the Senior Pathways team with the contact details for the host school, once your venue is confirmed.

Once you have this confirmation, you should contact the host venue for arrival times and room details. Try to organise a visit before your exams, so that you are familiar with the environment. Remember to bring photo ID every day. If in doubt, plan to arrive at the host venue by 8.20am (morning sessions) or 11.50am (afternoon sessions). Plan your commute, and allow for traffic delays.

Interstate and overseas students

On the day of your exam

Students onsite at BrisbaneSDE - sign in at the table outside the Discovery Centre.
All others - sign in at the school reception, unless otherwise advised.
Bring a clear water bottle and your ID every day.
If your exam schedule covers both morning and afternoon sessions, do not leave the school campus in between.

Year 12 Mock Exam Timetable - for all students completing a General Subject in 2026 TBC

Students please see the attached timetable (coming soon!) for all General Subjects for Week 8 and 9 this term.

Important information:

Students attending BrisbaneSDE for actual external exams

Students to attend the Mock exams at BrisbaneSDE on site per the mock exam timetable above
Clashing times? Complete one exam at specified time and other when you can either at school or at home.

Students attending other venues

Complete mock exams at home per the mock exam timetable
You do not need to use your exam supervisor
Log into collaborate session and listen to instructions
Rolls will be marked

Classes during mock exams

No classes in weeks 8 and 9 term 3 for General and Applied classes
Exception is VET and QCIA classes. Attendance at all VET and QCIA classes will still be expected.
If you have an exam at this time let your VET or QCIA teacher know in advance and attend exam if possible.
The roll is taken (onsite and online) and your absence will be explained.

What could be a suitable EA venue overseas or interstate?

Please note that venues such as daycare centres and public libraries will no longer be considered suitable venues. This is due to significant challenges related to opening times, secure storage of assessment materials, capacity of approved supervisors to manage courier deliveries and collections at designated delivery and pick-up times and always maintaining the security of exam materials. Venues should also not be a parent’s or carer’s place of work.

Examples of suitable venues include:

· Other Queensland schools

· Universities

· TAFEs

· Government agencies

· Australian embassies (international venues).
