"Ice Watch" is a 2014 artwork by Olafur Eliasson, using 12 glacial ice blocks from Greenland's ice sheet. These icebergs, weighing 80 tonnes total, were arranged in a clock shape in public places.

It was shown in Copenhagen (2014), Paris (2015) and London (2018) to mark climate events. The work aims to make climate change tangible, letting people see Arctic ice melt. It encourages awareness through direct experience of melting ice.

Ice Watch • Artwork • Studio Olafur Eliasson.

Will / Be Going To

Will : When you decide to do something right now, you can use “will”. For example, “I’ m thirsty. I think I will buy a bottle of water.” Here, the decision to buy water is made on the spot.

Be going to : When you have already made a plan, use “ be going to”. For example, We are going to have a party next week.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between “will” prediction without evidence and “going to” prediction with evidence. For example, “It will rain” vs “It’s going to rain”. I need to remember the evidence part.

Mistakes: I often use “will” for plans by mistake. Like saying “I will go to the park tomorrow” when I already planned it. I should use “going to” for planned actions.

predictions for the final

1.I think students will work hard in final assessment week.

2.Maybe some classmates will feel a bit tired but happy after exams.

3.I guess the English final test will be a little difficult.

intentions you have for the rest of the project

1, I’m going to ask teachers for help if I don’t understand.

2, I’m going to finish all my research by Friday.

3, I' m going to write project step 1 in the weekend.

offers you might make to help classmates

Climate change poses a severe threat to global biodiversity. Rising temperatures disrupt the delicate balance of ecosystems, forcing species to either adapt, migrate, or face extinction. For instance, polar bears struggle as melting ice reduces their hunting grounds, while coral reefs bleach under increased ocean warmth. These disruptions not only harm individual species but also undermine the complex web of interactions that sustain life on Earth.

1，Main idea: Climate change is very bad for Earth’s biodiversity, hurting species and ecosystems.

2.Topic sentence: Climate change poses a severe threat to global biodiversity.

Part 2: Coherence

1，Transition/linking words: “For instance” gives examples. “While” shows the difference between polar bears and coral reefs. “Not only...but also” shows how big the disruptions are.

2，Idea flow: Ideas are clear. First, it says climate change is a threat. Then, it explains how it upsets ecosystems and affects species. Next, it gives examples (polar bears, coral reefs). Last, it talks about bigger harms to life’s web. Each part follows the one before.

Part 3: Reflection

1，Writer’s strength: The writer uses simple examples (polar bears, coral reefs) to show how climate change hurts biodiversity.

Banksy’s Sirens of the Lambs is a unique public - art piece. It criticizes consumerism and people’s indifference to animal suffering. The work is a slaughterhouse - style truck filled with animatronic stuffed animals. It parades through city streets. When the truck moves, the “lambs” inside make strange sounds, breaking the daily rhythm of the city. According to Jones (2023), Banksy aims to make people face the reality of industrial meat production, which is often hidden. Putting this disturbing scene in daily places (like busy roads) makes passers - by stop and think. Just as Olafur Eliasson’s Ice Watch uses physical elements to attract viewers, Banksy uses shock value and unexpected settings. This way connects to art’s role in raising awareness. It brings the hidden issue of animal exploitation in the food industry to the public. It makes people think about their part in harmful systems, similar to how art deals with global problems like climate change.
