As you examine your assigned scenario, identify the ISTE Standards and aligned Grade Band Articulations that are present in the scenario. In this Padlet, explain (in text or video) the connections you make AND how the activity explained in the scenario helps develop the Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics outlined in the Profile of the SC Graduate.

Through the use of video production on tablets, laptops to research, group communication, the age band articulations for 8-11 were met. With access to a tablet to create a video, students were able to reach the ISTE standards of becoming a "innovative designer" and "computational thinker". This project also connects to the Profile of the SC Graduate by developing world-class skills of collaboration, teamwork, and creativity.

In the ‘We’re All Immigrants’ project, students developed global collaboration skills by partnering with peers in Singapore to analyze immigration data. They constructed knowledge through visual representations, and engaged in iterative design in their surveys. This supports critical thinking, creativity, and a global perspective outlined in the Profile of the SC Graduate while fostering active use of technology to close the Digital Use Divide.

Making algebra accessible reflects on empowered learning, because students are able to learn faster and more effectively understand the subjects they're studying. It also assists in computational thinking, by quickly showing how small changes in formula reflect on the graph and increases student engagement and understanding. This develops SC skills on knowing how to learn, self direction, and knowledge media and technology.

Students practiced the global collaborator standard when collaborating with students from other countries. They practiced standard 5, computational thinker. They used spreadsheets, surveys, and created a database for information. This connects to profile of a learner because it strengthens their global perspective in the life and career characteristics.

We would say that the grade band articulations for ISTE Standards of being an innovative designer was definitely met through their project with their exploration of different design processes and planning/making prototypes. We also said the empowered learner standard was met through their transferring of their learning through different tools/learning environments. We thought knowledge constructor was met through their solving of real world problems and working towards their own unique solutions. Additionally, this activity involved the global collaborator grade band articulation through their working in groups/together and with the community. Connecting to the profile of the SC graduate, this project had the students engage in innovation, problem solving, and teamwork, involving many of the aspects of that profile.
