In May 31 independent countries formed the organization of Africa unity. OAU was created to join countries together. They wanted peace in Africa's government and tribes. Their main mission was to stop segregation and discrimination in Africa

Hulu objected the Tutsi for murder. The argument slowly became a genocide. Hulu massacred 800,000 civilians. The conflict lasted long enough to decrease the Rwanda's population by nearly half.

F.W Deklerk helped most of Africas segregation and dis crimination.Many were happy that someone is doing something about racism in Africa. Then a man named Nelson Mandela becme the first black African president. He nearly abolished segregation and discrimination. He made apartheid go away.

Since many countries wanted to get land for minerals laws were put down. Most laws prevented overlapping of colonies.Overlapping was prevented so that countries wouldn't have wars against each others.

The slave trade ends. Slaves aren't needed any more so many used the new available technology.Since the industrial revolution was booming many no longer needed the labor work.Many wars also stopped slvery and stopped it from happening again.

Diring the 1990 and 2000s HIV and AIDs became a bigger problem.More and more civilians were dying. The difference in the past was that people never knew or wasn't as big as know. Aids and HIV are killing most of the children and women.Some scientist are trying to find a solution to the biggest problem in Africa.
