Because of Abe's car accident he had to adapt neurally. His brain had to rewire information in order to adapt to the loss of a limb. 

According to Coon, Mitterer, and Martini (2019) “the human brain is capable of rewiring and changing to adapt to a new or changing environment.” (p. 54)

Abe suffers from chronic pain and anxiety. 

He believes other look at him as a disabled man, but he knows his wife loves him unconditionally.

Abe has paired certain genres of music with his car accident. 

He seems stressed and has trouble sleeping, he also shows symptoms of depression.
