         <title>2 Drafting</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Write the rough draft, leaving space for revisions later. This is a great time to write catchy leads to grab the reader's attention. Right now just focus on <em>what</em> you're writing (content), not so much your spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. (conventions).<br><br><strong>My experience: </strong>writing without going back to proofread and make corrections.<br><br><strong>Student observation: </strong>leaving a space between lines to write in revisions later.</div>]]></description>

You can share your draft in a group (or with your teacher) to get their feedback on what you've written, then make changes based on what they think will improve your writing. What you originally wrote will likely be significantly revised, and greatly improved!<br><br><strong>My experience:</strong> arrows showing where sentences should be relocated.<br><br><strong>Student observation: </strong>students conferencing with teacher to improve readability of writing piece.</div>]]></description>

You might want to set your drafts aside for a few days so that when you revisit them, you will do so with fresh eyes. This stage is about identifying errors in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.<br><br><strong>My experience: </strong>lots of read marks circling errors!<br><br><strong>Student observation: </strong>teachers marking draft using proofreading marks.</div>]]></description>
