But as they continued frank got worse and worse. His drug usage got out of hand and made him turn into an abusive boyfriend toward Mona. When Frank started to hit Mona, she said "I didn't think I would see the backhand coming." Her father encouraged her and said "But you, someday, you should be a police officer." This motivated Mona greatly.
