         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>I definitely agree that to teach a lesson plan you don't just throw it at the students. You need to have patience in explaining to them on what it is they need to know. I do believe that in more affluent schools they seem to care more but testing also seems to be a big part of their routine.</div>]]></description>

It is infuriating beause they believe their life is that bad, but have you actually tried to ask them about their home life? The fact that some believe you have to clean them up, is just horrible to think that you think these kids are dirty in the first place! They deserve compassion and patience and not that you look at them as if they are your project!<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>I do believe that the curriculum is important to learn but when teachers teach like a robot without any emotion the students won't be interested. I have been told you shouldn't smile till november and be very serious with the students. I don't think that will work at all because students need to see some kind of humanity in you. If you disconnect from the students they won't be motivated to learn at all!<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>In my opinion the administration has not much influence when it comes to teaching students well. I know they have a role to play but it is the teacher that is in charge of keeping the students motivated to listen. Just because your lesson plan is perfect in detail and meticulously made, doesn't mean it will go well with the students! I do believe that lesson plans are helpful, in that they help when you have like couple of extra minutes left or you want to test them on something. But the fact that these students eyes are glazing over when the teacher talks, and he doesnt realize, you know it wont go well. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I really liked the quote because as a teacher it is really important to understand that each of the students are unique, and the way you would have to teach them would also be unique. There is a difference in enagaging students in the lesson, or empowering them. To empower your students you would make them feel more comfortable around you, and that is what you want in a classroom. Now I chose this video because it talks about how we as teachers should create an environment where the students would want to learn but not have to. The video talks about giving the children choices of what they want to learn, and inspiring many different possibilities for their future.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Now this quote made me furious, because i thought it to be unbelievable that some teachers would treat students of different colors differently, because of their race. I think it is shameful and just disrespectful to them, these are students, with an eager hand to write and an eager brain to do all the work but teachers see them as loud so they try to train them as being docile, and if they are, they are being rewarded. The video that&nbsp;I chose talks about how black girls are being misunderstood a lot and teacher don't understand that their identities come from ,where&nbsp;THEY come from.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Now just because there are a lot of teachers in the classroom, does not mean the students are learning anything. It doesnt mean that the more teachers there are, the more these kids will learn. You need to get to know them otherwise don't expect a lot of change from them&nbsp;and in this video that&nbsp;I chose, it is about a teacher and what he thinks his students should hear from him. How many times has your teacher ever said to you that they care about you as a person that achieving high academic standards is not the most important thing you need to learn, or what you will use in your future. This teacher in the video talks about teaching adversity to the students, how to handle their messy situation in life.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I very much like the idea of co-teaching, because the students might come up with fresh ideas on how to teach the lesson, or an activity you can teach them if you haven't yet thought about it. The other thing that popped out in the quote is the positive reinforcement, I student teach in two different school and they both have a different approach on how to reward them. My favorite is that whenever a child does something good they get a star or something else. I definitely think it works and in this video it shows. I chose this video because when a child receives positive reinforcement it wants them to behave better.          <description><![CDATA[<div>What struck me in this quote is how students feel because of their position in society, that they feel different and unwanted or outcasts. I think being vulnerable means opening yourself to wanting to be accepted even though it may come with some risks. In this video that I chose, this woman talks about what vulnerability is and how it can help in the classroom if we all accept that we have this emotion. Vulnerability is not a wekaness but an accurate measurement of a students courage. When they armor up because they are vulnerable they shut themselves off and that is the opposite of what teachers need or want. Without vulnerability, without that courage you cannot create anything new.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This quote struck me because reading about her, i really saw how much she was trying to be a great teacher, but the stress of hat school was taking away her joy. She tried so hard for these kids but because she was coming to work loosing her humor and faith in herself. i see so many teachers complain about their students and i want to ask them, why they are int he field of teaching if they hate it. i chose this picture because you see these kids hanging on the word of the teacher, and that's the kind of teacher i want to be. Where the students are hanging on my every word, excited to learn something new. if you don't like your job, i don't see a point in staying, but to look for something else.</div>]]></description>

If you manage though to make the content exciting and inviting then more kids want to start learning. You need to find out what interests them and how you can connect that to your lesson plan. i chose this picture because these kids look like they are excited to learn, as they should be because school shouldn't just be about learning hard, but about liking and loving what you learn about.</div>]]></description>

We as teachers are percieved as know it all, and yes sometime i think its great that we know things, ahead of our students but sometimes even we have a lack of words. If ever the time comes and i don't know the answer to what the student as asking me, then i will respond "This is the perfect for all of us to grow together in knowledge and figure this out together. Students need to understand that teachers have weaknesses too that we need to accept, but together we can learn so much.<br>I chose this picture because we are all different and by different i don't just mean race or culture, but we need t accept our teacher and come together to solve problems instead of creating them. </div>]]></description>

How many times did I fight the wrong person, using up all my strength when I could have teamed up with them and beat our big enemy together. Students always fight the wrong thing, and sometimes they don't know what they stand for. Sometimes they fight against their teacher, even though their teacher is the one fighting for them and not against them. I chose this picture because we all have our demons hat we need to get rid off, and we need to see the enemy for who he truly is and not assume that we know what we are fighting for. I think that is damaging to them, i do believe that they should be chameleons and learn tricks of the trade to survive. I think that is what Emdin is trying to say, that some students need to change in order to survive in this cruel world. When i moved to the USA, i had to change because people thought i was weird being from Europe, not celebrating thanksgiving or opening presents on Christmas eve instead of Christmas day. I started lying to people, telling them i was born in GA because i hated the jokes. I chose this picture because we are all different cultures, we speak different languages and we have different slangs and traditions. We need to embrace them instead of shy away from them and lie about, that is why i think this picture represents cultures and differences so well.</div>]]></description>

That chart might just be what can save them and have their students be more interested in learning because he teacher is becoming more like them. I chose this picture because sometimes when you speak a word that no one understand it gets confusing, but i think you ought to try and make them feel comfortable.          <description><![CDATA[<div>That quote hit me deep, sometimes teachers cant handle the truth, although it is staring right at them. Teachers sometimes dont see how they are standing, or how the talk to the kids, they might think it is normal gestures and normal talking but it is the opposite. And students will not learn in an angry environment, it gets depressing for them because they will think teachers dont care so the more the teacher yells, the less they will listen to the teacher. That is why i chose this picture, you can see the teacher yelling but you also see the student covering his ears with noise canceling headphones not caring. You need to communicate with the students in a friendly manner and show you care.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This quote is my absolute favorite. that is exactly how i dont want to be as a teacher. I want to believe in my kids and their ability to achieve whatever they want, as long as they put int the hard work and faith in themselves. How is a student supposed to believe in themselves if the teacher has already given up on them. They need to think higher of students and not judge them one thing, but always give them chances to grow into their best selves. I chose this picture because parents sometimes don't tell their kids how valued they are, how great they are. So as teachers that see these kids 40h a week, i think it is our responsibility to show these kids just how amazing they are. 'Our faith in them matters.'</div>]]></description>
