If you take the time, you may notice the kid in his chair is the same one in the clown picture. I then began with a picture of my cat Duke. I had made a "dirt'ish" background with exaggerated grass blade. I tried to keep grounded by using just earth tones and earthy stuff (metals, rocks, woods). The center piece is my inner person mourning (and biting my lip because guys aren't supposed to cry) with my kitty Sir Duke the Destroyer (who was mourning as well, didn't know cats did that) the death of our black cat Sketch of 18yrs. The kids, I turned into a set of clowns. Though, in this case, it is an impression of feelings when one jokes around but apparently is not as funny as one thought they were. "A jester with tomato on the face". The floating plates are all the cars I've had in the past just sitting in my head with mental images. The building is of a wooden tribute to pay homage for all that have passed during the line of work as a firefighter, peace officer, military person and other service people during Burning Man in Nevada, this would be burned to the ground. The cat in the window, ...well, this is usually the look I get when it is feeding time. I wanted to experiment with the use of a photo as something else through the manipulation and changing of it. I decided to take a bit of my cosmic horror fascination and create it using two photos from my collection. The base picture is from one of the pictures I took at lake Tahoe as it seemed so large compared to my other photos. Then I used an edited picture of the moon from my hometown of auburn to achieve the glowing effect of the eyes. I feel as though I achieved the eerie and hopeless vibe very well.
