I know Dally has already come for them, but it must be so hard to live with the fact that you killed a human person. It's almost as if when you are in the moment and Johnny just killed him that he was doing the right thing, but after something that big happens to a person, you can really doubt what you have done. In a more detailed answer, I see some relation to how Ponyboy sees Darry.  In the song the lyrics say “Fight so dirty but your love is so sweet,” which kind of explains Darry's personality.  He cares for Ponyboy, as in, feeds him and becomes the parent figure, but he is also a little mean.
