Taxi's are not metered on Barbados. Rates are government regulated with fees hovering around $20 USD per hour.($25.08 in Canadian.) Visitors are advised to settle on a fare and currency before taking a taxi.

There are no specific vaccinations required for visitors travelling to Barbados although you should be up to date on routine immunizations (tetanus-diphtheria, measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis A and B). There are no health risks but some safety risks and current warnings are the wearing of any form of camouflage is illegal. Not to start fires on the beach because they are illegal and dangerous. Also, not to drive on the right side of the road because everyone drives on the left side and most vehicles are right hand drive. Secondly, it would be a cultural motivator because some people travel here with the desire to learn about the island, people and cultural heritage expressed in art, music etc. The potential barriers that could be faced when travelling here is health because it is an island and it's easy to develop something like a mosquito born disease.
