Review vocabulary-Rate words, and use a graphic organizer <br>3. Poll Questionnaire on index cards.  Students use sentence frame and a vocabulary word.<br>4.&nbsp; Gradual Release- Teacher begins reading the article with the students (first paragraph)  and then directs the students to begin the lesson on their own laptop.<br><br><strong>Tuesday</strong><br><em>(Teacher Directed Small Group and Literacy Rotation) </em><br><br>Rotation 1-Read Stretch article, model for students how you read a paragraph and make meaning of the text and vocabulary.&nbsp; Students will cite textual evidence to answer the thought question with guidance.<br><br>Rotation 2 -Vocabulary-Bingo game (Group Activity)  <br>Rotation 3-Finish Day one article activity and the following steps.<br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Grade 6 <br><strong>Model</strong>: Computer Lab (M, Tu)<br><strong>Standards</strong>: LAFS.6.RL.1.1,1.2 Citing Evidence/Theme<br><br><strong>Monday<br></strong>"A Sea of Garbage" ----Align to Collections # 3 Disasters<br>Step 1: Gallery Walk using images from different disasters. (Each member of Groups of 3 rotate to each picture and write a word to represent the theme. Then the groups create a statement that represents the theme) (10 mins)<br>Step 1: Have students define 4 terms they know chemical, garbage, global, mammal, pollution, sample. Then provide students with the definitions of all terms. (5 mins)<br>Step 1: Before Reading Poll-- read the question out loud whole group and have students respond individually on an index card. Then, students switch cards with their elbow partner for peer review. (3 mins)<br><br><strong>Step 2: Article--- </strong><br><strong>I do</strong>: Teacher identifies the average lexile of the students and presents the article whole group.<br><strong>I do</strong>: Teacher models reading, and model filling out the evidence section of the <strong>Evidence Building Graphic Organizer</strong> for paragraph 1.<br><strong>We do</strong>: Teacher and students read and add more evidence to the <strong>Evidence Building Graphic Organizer</strong> for paragraph 2.<br><strong>Step 2: Article</strong><br><strong>You Do</strong>: Students log in to Achieve 3000 to read and complete the <strong>Evidence Building Graphic Organizer</strong> for the article at their lexile. (20 mins)<br><br><strong>Step 3: Activity Question</strong><br><strong>You do</strong>: Students complete the activity questions aiming for a 75% or higher 1st try score. (5-7 mins)<br><br><strong>Step 4: After Reading Poll<br>You do: </strong>Students respond to the poll independently by typing in their response. (2 mins)<br><br><strong>Tuesday<br>Thought Question: </strong>Teacher models finding evidence to use for responding to the thought question. The teacher also models how to respond to the thought question (sentence by sentence)<br><strong>Whole Group: </strong>Stretch Article <br>Teacher instructs using guided practice citing specific evidence in each paragraph (Dig Deeper Section).<br><br><br><br><strong><br></strong><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
