Mount Gede disaster

The climb to Mount Gede initially went smoothly. Maya and Ita made it through several checkpoints without issue. Nearing the summit, Ita's condition began to deteriorate, with symptoms including fatigue, fainting, and even being possessed.

To prevent further harm, Indra persuaded Maya to abort the climb and return home. However, Ita's condition persisted. Apparently, she had arrived at Mount Gede while menstruating, which angered the mountain dwellers.

The weakness and the constant terror of the ghosts ultimately led to Ita's death. A confused Maya sensed another secret that had caused Ita to fall victim to the terror of Mount Gede's spirits.

The RMS Titanic was a cruise ship that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912. It is one of the deadliest ship disasters in history.

For its first trip Titanic was to sail from Southampton, England to New York City, USA. At the time, it was the largest ship ever built. The ship even had watertight compartments for safety. Many thought Titanic was unsinkable. The ship left Southampton on April 10, 1912. There were 2,435 people onboard.

On April 14, Titanic hit an iceberg. Over the next two-and-a-half hours, the ship filled with water and sank. There were not enough lifeboats for everyone. Some people were able to get into lifeboats, but many were not. Those in the water died within minutes because the water temperature was 28 degrees. There were 710 survivors, and over 1,500 who lost their lives. The loss of Titanic shocked the world.

Titanic wasn't seen again until September 1, 1985 when a team found where it was in the ocean. It sits over 22 miles deep on the ocean floor.

Today ships are much safer because of what was learned from Titanic. Titanic's story lives on through books, movies, memorials, and museums.

As he tried to drink, he slipped and fell into the water.

He couldn’t swim and started to drown.

A dove sitting on a tree nearby saw him. She quickly plucked a leaf and dropped it into the water. The ant climbed onto the leaf and floated to safety.

The next day, the ant saw a hunter aiming at the dove. He ran to bite the hunter’s foot. The hunter missed his shot, and the dove flew away safely.

Moral: One good turn deserves another.

Fox and A Cat

One day a cat and a fox were having a conversation. The fox, who was a conceited creature, boasted how clever she was. 'Why, I know at least a hundred tricks to get away from our mutual enemies, the dogs,' she said.

"I know only one trick to get away from dogs,' said the cat. "You should teach me some of yours!"

"Well, maybe someday, when I have the time, I may teach you a few of the simpler ones," replied the fox airily.

Just then they heard the barking of a pack of dogs in the distance. The barking grew louder and louder - the dogs were coming in their direction! At once the cat ran to the nearest tree and climbed into its branches, well out of reach of any dog. "This is the trick I told you about, the only one I know," said the cat."'Which one of your hundred tricks are you going to use?"

The fox sat silently under the tree, wondering which trick she should use. Before she could make up her mind, the dogs arrived. They fell upon the fox and tore her to pieces.

Moral of the story: A single plan that works is better than a hundred doubtful plans.

A long time ago, a bird-catcher was in the process of making himself a net. He was planting seeds which would grow into cords which in turn would held him in making a net. A clever bird sat on a tree watching the bird-catcher. She called out to other birds and said, "Look at the bird-catcher. He is planting seeds that will grow up and help him make nets to catch us. If we eat all the seeds he is planting, he will never be able to make his nets." The other birds were not interested. They did not believe the clever bird, "Why don't you go and eat those seeds. We have something to do." Without heeding the clever bird's advice they all flew away. Not so long later the clever bird had said, the seeds grew into plants that were used to make cords which helped the bird-catcher to make nets. He managed to catch a great number of birds.

lessons from little birds

A boy named Raka lived in a small village on the edge of a forest. Every afternoon, he would sit by the river, watching the sun slowly set behind the trees. Raka loved to imagine that one day he would explore the world beyond his village, meet new people, and learn things he had never known before. Despite this, he remained comfortable with the warmth of the village and the friendliness of the people around him.

One day, while playing in the river, Raka found a small bird with an injured wing. He immediately nursed the bird with great patience. Day by day, the bird began to recover and was finally able to fly again. From this experience, Raka learned that while he longed to see the outside world, there were many valuable things he could do here, no matter how small. From that moment on, he resolved to become someone who would be useful, both to his village and to the world he hoped to explore one day.

A timid little mouse suddenly approached him, and, frightened and in his haste to escape, he ran right past the lion's nose. Awakened from his slumber, the lion angrily brought his huge paws down on the little creature to kill it.

"Spare me!" pleaded the poor Mouse. "Please let me go, and someday I will surely repay you."

The Lion was amused by the thought of a Mouse helping him. However, he showed mercy and finally let the Mouse go.

A few days later, while stalking prey in the forest, the Lion became entangled in a hunter's net. Unable to free himself, he filled the forest with his furious roar. The Mouse recognized the sound and soon found the Lion struggling in the net. Running to one of the large ropes that bound him, he gnawed at it until it broke, and soon the Lion was free.

"You laughed when I said I would repay you," said the Mouse. "Now you see, even a Mouse can help a Lion."

A good deed will never be wasted.

To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell into the water.

She could have drowned if a dove up a nearby tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly plucked off a leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant. The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up there. Soon it carried her safely to dry ground. Just at that time, a hunter nearby was throwing out his net towards the dove, hoping to trap it.

Guessing what he was about to do, the ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped his net. The dove was quick to fly away to safety.

One good turn deserves another.
