North Korea began the attack from what is called 38th parallel now. Therefore, South Korean president at the time, asked United States' help. By United States' help, South Korea was gaining the victory. Consequently, North Korea asked China for a help. This war continued non-stop and lots of people were sacrificing their lives. As a result, North Korea and South Korea decided to go on a break from 1953, July, 27th and created 38th parallel (the mid line between South and North of Korea). However, this break is still continuing with no conclusion yet.
