Are you looking for ideas to build synergy in your media center? This session gives participants a chance to explore, discuss, and share ideas for building excitement in the media center. The media program at RHES utilizes hands-on exploration at the Tinker Space. Students love coming to participate in curriculum connected crafts, technology-related activities, and exploring related books from the media center. We want our students talking about books! The RHES Wildcat News is a platform that enables students to share book reviews with the school. Once a book is on the news, students are on the hunt for that book! It does not stay on the shelf for long. See examples of our student reviews and go behind the scenes to see how we do it! We challenge our RHES Readers to explore different genres, spend time reading, and sharing favorite books. One tool we utilize is the Reading Passport. Students complete challenges each nine weeks. Lastly, we love to engage our students in thoughtful conversations and make personal connections to books. We do this in our morning book clubs. Jump in to see how the RHES media program works to capture interest and engage our students. We'd love to learn from you as well!

Discussion Leader: Jaime Rearley
Grade: K-12
Content Area- Media/ Reading
